So, I got my first tattoo

Post by Retlaw83 »

I got it with a bunch of my buddies. We got SPQR tattooed on our left arms like the Roman legionnaires did. Then we went out and killed a bunch of Huns to celebrate.

Thinking of getting the Brotherhood of Steel symbol on my right arm at some point. So I guess I have a question for you guys who have tattoos - for something like that, is it better to get the lining and color done all in one go, or get the outline of it down then get parts colored in periodically?

It's probably better to get it in sessions. So says the man who sat for about 8 hours straight to get his done.

But honestly, I think part of that depends on the artist and the size of the tattoo as well. If you're getting a little girly butterfly, than one session for it all with a decent tattoo artist makes sense. If it's like a fucking gauntlet tattooed on your forearm, a number of sessions makes sense.

Walt: Thanks for the advice. Spending 8 hours getting carved on doesn't sound pleasant - the SPQR thing was a good first tattoo, only took about 20 minutes in the chair.

Alice: I know you have trouble processing the fact people can function in groups. However, if I wanted your opinion on that topic, I'd give it to you.

I think you're overestimating the meaning of social functioning. Your focus is on peer pressure, of which you have become a victim, marked permanently. :giggle:

Megs, get an X rayed monster truck tattooed around the engine.

I kind of feel like everyone nowadays has a tattoo. Is it to make some kind of statement? Are you unique because you get a tattoo like everyone else does? Is it art when some uneducated fucktard tattoo's over a printed picture out of his catalogue?

If you knew anything about me, you'd know I do the peer pressuring. It seemed like a fine idea to me; again I apologize that you don't have any close friends.

As for everyone having tattoos, the meaning is up to the person getting it. I did comment to the tattoo artist that I thought tattoos lost their edge once librarians and school teachers started getting them - he replied that he'd tattooed a librarian earlier in the day. As for the education comment, the guy doing my tattoo seemed pretty fucking smart. Tattooing's just a job he likes that he's been able to make a lucrative career from.

Like that you smear your obese body with "nutella" for your "friends"?
This of course had also nothing to do with peer pressure. :chuckel:

For the umpteenth time, it was pudding. It was also my idea.

Kind of getting sick of pointing out you don't know how to get along with people in groups, but you keep reinforcing the point.
