True Grit
So it's a movie made by the Coen brothers that is a remake of a movie that had John Wayne in it and is also based on a book. The new one stars Jeff Bridges, Matt Damon, and a girl. It's about a girl trying to get justice on the man who killed her father so she hires Jeff Bridges to track him down and Matt Damon comes along too.
The movie was okay and not as good as I was expecting but it kept you entertained and not bad. Jeff bridges plays a drunk and old guy and he does it well but a lot of the stuff in the movie was trying to be funny but it wasn't that funny so I didn't laugh. Lots of other people in the theater laughed pretty hard though and I gave them a lesbian stare.
My quirk about the movie is that they use a lot of CGI for a lot of stupid shit that I wasn't expecting. For a western I was just expecting some old fashioned film making and not a cgi scene of the girl crossing a river with a horse and cgi of every character death. I can deal with some CGI for some hard scenes but a lot of it just felt kind of lazy and it was over used. The cgi also wasn't very good at all and looked pretty fake.
Overall the movie was okay but not as good as you would expect a coen brothers western would be.

yeah, having seen the movie i have to agree that the CGI wasn't nearly as obvious as pooper makes it seem. I only really noticed it because i read this review before seeing.cazsim83 wrote:i didnt' really notice the CGI but otherwise once again fantastic review, poops

I just have an eye for CGI, I don't know why I can always point it out when others don't notice it but it makes me rage every time I see it because it breaks the immersion.Dogmeatlives wrote:yeah, having seen the movie i have to agree that the CGI wasn't nearly as obvious as pooper makes it seem.
