Game you're playing. How far you are.
Been playing Red Steel 2. About 3 hours in and I think it's still in the tutorial levels.
The sword fighting is intense and pretty intuitive in that the sword simply does what you tell it. It tracks how hard you're swinging, what angle you're swinging from, and to parry you have to move the sword around. With all the people asking about realistic sword fighting games awhile back, I'd say this is it.
Gunfighting and using the wiimote to turn is another story altogether - I experience the same difficulty playing The Conduit. I don't know if it's a case of first person shooters not being good for the Wii, or the controls are fine and I'm just not used to them. Although there is a mechanic that if you're surrounded by four enemies, and you're sword fighting one in front of you and the other three are behind, the other three won't attack. Although, given the fact it's a Japanese game, it could just be chalked up to martial arts movie syndrome. It's shocking un-anime for being Japanese, so it's tolerable to me.
I'd recommend it, though if you've played Borderlands you'll notice everything is cell-shaded and you get missions that are pinned to bounty boards.

I got Red Steel 2 when it came out and played it a bit, it wasn't bad but after playing like xbox or pc games then playing a Wii game it was pretty shocking how blurry and shit looking it was. I never really played Wii much so I can't really judge how much the Wii Plus adds to it but I wasn't completely pleased with the feel. It still felt kind of iffy that my movements were being tracked right and it felt like it had a bit of lag. It's another game on my list of games to finish. I also got Metroid Prime 3 since I remember playing the first 2 and liking them but the combat just feels stupid now after these years and I don't think I'm going to attempt it again.
I played Shadow Broker DLC for ME2 last night and it was pretty good but I hate when you get to a big interesting boss and all the options you get in dialog are like "im gonna kill you" instead of getting to know him more. Also the combat or either my character is shit in ME2 because none of the combat zones are fun or interesting and it seems like a major step back from the first.
As of right now I feel like playing a hardcore DnD game like ToEE but I'm afraid it might make me feel like a swell guy nerd?

Yeah, turn-based squad based action in a WWII setting is good enough.Stainless wrote:Silent Storm. Fuck Panzerkleins.
For me.
Giving Arx Fatalis another go after I heard on the Codex they came out with a final patch after all these years. A real unappreciated RPG, good stuff. Innovative magic system, dark, grimy vibe. Too much fucking running around which makes me remember why I gave up on it before.
Well, I do draw the line somewhere - I refuse to do "It's Raining Men".Tofu Man wrote:I just lost my faith in gaming.Cimmerian Nights wrote:Actually enjoying myself.

I don't know of any decent adult games for the Wii aside from Red Steel 2. My problem is I have an Xbox and the PC, too, and usually if something comes out for the Wii that's aimed at grown ups there's a superior version available for other platforms.

Taking one of these out without cheaty weapons is one glorious moment.Stainless wrote:Silent Storm. Fuck Panzerkleins.
Well I'm sure you would. At least because I draw my line at 80's music.Cimmerian Nights wrote:Well, I do draw the line somewhere - I refuse to do "It's Raining Men".

Call me up when they get to the 60's and 70's and I'll give you a run for your money on Inagaddadavida. So long as you provide the "proper motivator".
