My school is having a huge flash-mob right now. I was in it for about a good hour and a half. Pretty fun.

USA: Trains Osama and Al Queada to fight the commies, isolates them and in turn they at some point decide that they hate the US, goes ballistic when they attack, ten years and several wars and crippled economies later the leader is dead.

Happy ending or a major cliff hanger?

Ok if I'm the only one who thought this immediately, then I will give up on humanity and become a hermit, but am I the only one who immediately called Bullshit on this? The CIA buried his body at sea out of respect for Islamic tradition................ Do red flag's not go off in anyone else's mind? I mean, in the world I thought I was living in this would not be believed by anyone. Maybe I've just lost my mind or something. Like this is it brothers. People are accepting this as fact. It will be in history books that he was killed and buried at sea and for the rest of my life I will see 'Was Bin Lade Really Killed' on the fucking History Channel.

But it's not like the CIA would ever lie to us, right? Nah, that couldn't happen. And the military, I'm sure I can trust them implicitly. Like, guys I'm for real right now. This is fucking insanity that it's being accepted... At the very least the moronic fucker who dropped his body in the ocean should be fired.

"Hey, got Bin LAden's body here. Folks'll be dying to see this."
"Drop it in the ocean."
"Huh?"
"Yeah, just use a CIA boat and dump it in the ocean."
"But, ummm, like shouldn't we bring it to the states or at least take some photos to release?"
"Nah, just dump it. The pizza's here and I'm starving."

LOL Dogmeat I think it is more accurate to say it was buried at sea in accordance with tradition. Less fuel for the fire eh?

I think you are being silly to find it necessary to jump to conspiracy theory conclusions. Unless you wanted to see the flames fanned, in which case I can suppose I could respect your view.

:paper:

The part I am concerned about is why I don't seem to share the "OMFG YAY IT IS OVER" mentality. For some reason it seems more like "one down... :chew:"

Honestly though, it took us how long to kill a guy who's on dialysis and lives in the mountains? I guess a three billion dollar defense budget can't buy brain cells.

A gross oversimplification. Yes. The comparison should be that of finding the needle in a mountainous region hundreds of square miles across with tunnels going throughout the entire region, allowing said needed to go for months at a time without needing to go into direct sunlight, as well as the needle having the support of the local population of said mountainous region. As well as discovering that the needle was not even in said region, but in a suburban area and was hiding in plain sight. Yes.

I was assuming they would follow the smell. My Grandmother was on dialysis before she died and I wouldn't call the odor produced olfactory camouflage.

Personally I can't wait for 9/11 the sequal. The first villain always pales in comparison to the next one, I mean come on, Horrigan > The Master!

Such jubilation for the (likely forever unsubstantiated) creation of yet another martyr ? Ha. :drunk:

the mass partying is a bit bizarre. I don't get that feeling either. I think it says alot about the boogeyman quality he took on for alot of people in this country.

I wasn't trying to rush to a conspiracy theory in my previous post. I was trying to make the point that there are going to be a shit ton of people out there who will jump to insane conclusion just because there will probably never be satisfactory evidence. At this point, though, with the CIA involved it would be hard for me to believe any offered evidence.

This morning I was freaking out though. With the small amount of evidence offered and the willingness of people to rejoice over his death I had hardcore '1984' visions flashing through my head.

It's no different than Islamic neighborhoods cheering in the streets after 9/11. Human beings are pathetic, vicious animals. Almost tragic, but it is what it is.
off topic? OMG YOU'VE BEEN CENSORED... yet you're still posting. MYSTARY!!!!

Coincidentally, I had the same initial thought when I read this morning that they decided to bury the body at sea. While I do believe the Osama died in the attack, I do so for reasons on top of believing the government. It's mainly that - if Bin Laden really were alive, I'm sure it'd have been eaten up by Islamic groups who would call the US out. Then again. Maybe not. Maybe they feel they can use it for martyr status? I doubt it, though. Making the US look foolish, weak, and stupid is better than making someone who is merely symbolic look like a martyr, which they're not in any short supply of. So what have I noticed? Mostly that all the Islamic groups are complaining about how the body was buried and how it's a great insult to Islam. That's what tells me he's dead.
