Look around DaC and you'll find the beth-hating horde to be mostly comprised of twenty-somethings in their late stages of study/first post-edu job, whilst severely lacking in your demographic, whatever that might be. I don't mean to mis-evaluate you, but all your input reads like something out of someone older, someone the likes of which I'd expect there to be more of and more interested in the fray (concerning the "good fight"), you know, like you.
My demographic? The lower-middle class stoner IT dad? Heh, na, I think the old-timers are still around just don't post as frequently. You might be surprised how many 20 somethings were on board as teenagers who picked up FO1 way back when too.

At this point, the patron saint for these endeavors has to be Vince D. Weller, ex-chief at the Codex as he left there to start on Age Of Decadence. That's kind of the great white hope that slouches like me are too lazy and disorganized to initiate.
What I'd reaaaaaaaaaaally like to know was whether he'd have written that if there had been no public backlash.
It sounds like DA2 is pretty scorn-worthy though, really have no desire to try it myself.

But it sounds to me like Bioware bowed to EA's marketing dept, and trend-whored the game out. Yet the other side of his mouth he praises Todd Howard, who's middle-name is trend-whoring sellout.

I'd imagine a lot. A lot of people who should post more often if that's the case. FOR THE REVOLUCIÓN! :revolution:

Didn't know that. At least now I know AoE's going to be pedantic. Which is a good thing.

This might explain some of it (notice the name in the title), but yeah, all this furious thunder reacting to a game by a company that, as you said, always made more action oriented RPGs looks fishy. Horrible taste and lack of gaming history knowledge normally aren't the case with magazine columnists.
Shit like this has a habit of coming back to bite you in the ass. I'm gonna keep an eye on him and laugh hard as fuck when it does. In addition to what I already have with that "Oh noes they ruined DA" rant.
