Well I do play other stuff to I do spend some time at NMA I tell no lie and I wasn't trying to insult Call of Duty or it's fans more the idiots who tend to think it is the only game in existence that is worth playing.

obviously the worst bit is the interrogation, not so much for the reasons dogmeat said (it's easy enough to figure out if people are lying, come on son) but more because you have to second guess what the writers are thinking, and what they think the average player is going to be thinking and go from there, rather than trusting your gut instincts or whatever. it's a bit like that Keynesian truth about stock markets: it's not about choosing the best stock, or what the average person thinks is the best stock, but instead choosing what the average person thinks the average person will think is the best stock. on top of that, the clues and evidence and so on are too easy to find & piece together. i was hoping to get a good late nite detective buzz going and that never really happened.

it's too bad because it does have a lot going for it... the cases are pretty interesting in themselves, even if solving them isn't. the setting is fucking amazingly well done (a far cry from the shitty "lol, the past" type pastiche you get with games like Mafia).

the fuck outta here getting worked up about the simplified chases/fights/etc. though -- it's a detective story, not an action film. those things are just window dressing.

I found the interrogation bits too easy there was little consequence for failure and most times you were told to go back in and do the exact same sequence again.

I could get down with simplified chases and shoot outs if the detective story was worth me going through the shooting and driving, but I mean really the detective bit was so bland and frustratingly simple that when I got to shoot or drive I was like "aww hell yeah", but then those parts sucked so I stopped playing. It was fun chasing people on foot though.. so it has that going.
