Seriously? That sucks something fierce.

Good for Tripwire, though. Its good to see a strong independent company (from Georgia, especially) doing well.

I hope you're not being ironic. But assuming you are...
Stalagmite wrote:Actually, Bethesda games are probably the easiest modern games to torrent but you may insert jokes about how nobody would be stupid enough to torrent shitty beth games.
Games like Fallout 3? That picture perfect example of a company treating its product how it wishes? And you actually paid for it?

Same. But it's not about them. It's about the precedent.

My friend, meet my cd copy of Civ 1. Plop it on the drive, double click english.bat and away we go. I could have already taken care of the aztecs and the injuns by the time you were done uptading whatever.

It's the games that were supposed to be getting more complex, not what you go through in order to play them. Looking at Steam and Civ V today, I reckon something must be wrong.

Fallout 3 wasn't that bad, it just, well, got very boring at some point, like most Bethesda games. The dialogue options weren't good at all and the choices seemed always black and white and even then it was poorly written which brings me to the point that it's just a good easy game to torrent and toy with mods and stuff.

And I've had no problems with Steam thus far except for the recent issue which has more to do with my government than anything.

Again, Stalag, that wasn't about Fo3 being bad. It's about it being a lot worse than either 1 or 2, besides the obvious necro-raping, FPS transmogrification, de-plot-ation, de-complex-ization, de-several different playstiles-ization and all of the other crap it did significantly worse than the originals. It's about its failures being a perfect example of what happens when a big company does what a big company is to a game. And in the end the game is always worse for it and worst of all, so is the player.

Fallout 3 shipped around 4.7 million the first week (selling most I'm sure)
Starcraft 2 sold about 3 million in the first month (granted, Starcraft games are probably more popular here in Eurasia than North America).

Since Fallout 3 was multiplatform and the consoliest of consoletards loved it I'm sure it will have sold more than Diablo 3 in the end (Maybe a surprise closeness but not quite as much).

SC2 sounds realistic but FO3 sounds like a lot more than I would expect for that soon. 4.3 million sounds fine for overall sale amount but first week shipment sounds a bit high? GIVE ME THE PROOF.

I thought SC2 was going to shatter more records but a lot of the sales records reports were all like "FASTEST SELLING GAME IN LAST 2 YEARS" or something like that, I think I lot of people just aren't into RTS's like they used even if it is starcraft.

I'm seriously tempted to get a PS3 now that all you guys are saying MGS4 is really good, plus even if I don't use it I will get a blu ray palyer.

Bethesda Softworks’ Lead Designer Todd Howard was awarded with the record for the Fastest-selling Multi Platform RPG after Fallout 3 sold over 4.7 million copies in its first week on sale from October 28th to November 4th 2008.

It's a worthy purchase, man. All the things you expect of a console these days plus internet browsing, some exclusive purchases, free online, etc. Little less dependable online access but otherwise it's pretty awesome.

If you get one, be sure to join me and Cazsim for some shenanigans

Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind.

It is good and brings me back even if Todd "I make shitty games just to weaken your pockets because I'm an evil corporate pig" Howard directed this game.fkyu

I'll tell you this much, Morrowind's still the best fake, fantasy world to date. Too bad the game's at its best when you turn off enemy AI and just go for the virtual tour.

Also - hit detection lol
