Ha ha ha no. House rules suggest that the less you do, the bigger your title, and you want a badge? Look at me, I had 2 weeks vacation and they almost made me a News Poster. Unfortunately, the videos and reviews and proper use of the english language means you get diddly squat. A couple more valid arguments and they'll probably take away your friend the drunk emoticon.

Re: You cunt.
You'll usually find originals and/or responses scattered across different computers. Sometimes in entirely other locations. This addiction to e-mail, messenger services and, I suspect, the 2027 versions of Facebook/Twitter etc ; clearly demonstrates that, unlike so many other games, the antagonists in DX-HR are not entirely passive and reactive - existing solely at protagonist discretion. The civilian NPCs are still little more than occasionally mobile scenery, though.Hoary Settee wrote:Emails

Actually it would be a lie to not disclose that I elbow-blade them all.
And then the ending is Adam wangsting about what an impeccable manbot he has been. Ahahaha. [/quote]
I don't like them scattered across different computers because by the time I get to the related email I don't know if they are talking about the same thing or not. I think they just put too many damn computers in the game and wanted to spread the content maybe. It just really dilutes the effect of reading someones email when i got no realy context without having to search around and be like "ZOMG HE IS TALKING ABOUT THIS One" then when your in montreal you got like 50 different conversations happening across 100 computers.

Its the old quality vs quantity thingy. Either you put no computers in the game (and people complain there's no computers), you put computers in the game and only make 1 or 2 usable (and people complain about not being able to use the ones you're not supposed to), make every computer usable and put nothing on them (and people complain using computers is useless) or do what they did, make every computer usable and use the mail as content of sorts.POOPERSCOOPER wrote:I don't like them scattered across different computers because by the time I get to the related email I don't know if they are talking about the same thing or not. Sure they went a bit overboard with the personal mails, but I'd rather it have too much content than not enough. Besides, snooping through people's personal mail isn't required, it's your own peeping tom self that's itching to come out.

That isn't the point, its that following the conversations is a pain in the ass that I don't bother with it. I don't want to have to piece it together trying to remember a persons name, I want to read the whole conversation in one email. Every time I see it I just roll my eyes, and this is a game I'm really trying to enjoy.
I also don't like how it's so hard to control a turret, I spend like 20 minutes last night trying to find the computer that I could control it form but it said none connected so I said fuck it and killed everyone myself.

It's part of the point. If in an office map you had 2 personal mails over 10 computers you'd have no problem linking them, it's only because you get 3 or 4 per pc that it gets confusing. Not having the initial mail annexed to the reply incites hunting for it if you're that interested, having it would be like a connect the dots where all the dots are already connected.
Besides, you're really not missing out on much, just click on them and if they're important you'll notice the XP gain and you can just go back and read it.
Can't find computers? Get the X-rayvisionaugthingy. While not really necessary it's still quite neato. Oh and the ones that control the cameras and shit have a green screen instead of orange.

Yes I agree it seems the game outlasted the e-mails they bothered to write, but that says something about the lack of inspiration to write more bothersome flotsom and change the focus to extending gameplay, which is good. Ill also agree the map is bad, although honestly i didn't use it at all.
I for one enjoyed the (still intact from DX1) branching gameplay styles, and thought the story was satisfying. Overall I think the spirit of DX1 was preserved as well, while still able to add a few tricks and the new hacking mini-game. It made me want to play the first one again, which is all I'm asking.

It's kind of just... well, fuck. The same way that Borderlands halfassed a "plot", Dead Island has halfassed a "plot."
I however have stopped caring about trying to find value in playing it for reasons of writing. The more expansive choice in modding weapons, both melee and guns, to have up to insane levels of electricity is now my sole purpose in playing. Then again, I haven't been playing it much. I've spent more time playing MGS: Peace Walker, as this is one of the most difficult games I've played but still really enjoyable. A great deal of the game is meant to be played with a partner, including operation of several two-person doomsday devices, but I don't really know anybody who has it and is readily available to play. Otherwise, asskicking-a-plenty.
Jetbaby, as for this whole thing with the jellyfish tank, the guy doing these shenanigans was retrofitting older tanks with numerous tools to auto-maintain a jellyfish tank, and his new one will have everything necessary built into it. Also, the suggested jellyfish are apparently only about the size of your palm even at maturity. Though trying that measurement out might kill you.
Also, Cracked.com has been pumping out some excellent material lately, and I'm particularly enjoying Michael Swaim's stuff-- Does Not Compute is doing well and inspiring vast lulz.

Swaim's stuff nowadays is a bit meh. Maybe it's just that After Hours is that much better. Should have more of that, like twice a week or something, shit is good.
