Fallout: New Vegas lead Josh Sawyer has dropped a hint about a unique weapon in the game on Facebook. He first posted about unique weapons in general:

As a followup questions, he was asked "Placing them? You mean, like, on the mantel?", to which he responded:

Jesus fuck I hope it's good. I've been playing FO2 a lot lately. The writing is gooooood. Hopefully they could the same level of writing.

Only unique sniper weapon I ever found that I recall is the All-American, but it was in Vault 21.
