Minecraft creator Mojang has won the interim injunction case that Bethesda filed against them. Notch had the <a href="http://twitter.com/#!/notch/statuses/12 ... >following to say</a>:

I don't get how you'd have the glimmer of hope of winning a suit because your products share a common English noun like "scroll". Scroll is a pretty old word, and their IP modifies it Elder Scrolls. You've got a right to protect your copywright from infringement, but this is just legally bullying a little guy. Their bully tactics have only worked against teeny-tiny Glutton Creeper, and they were offering a free PnP Fallout - they weren't even charging any money (and IIRC they had a deal in place that Bethesda refused to honor after Intply sold Fallout)!

As they say in Boston - wicked retaahded.

The most ridiculous thing is how Todd and co. had nothing to do with creating TES or Fallout as valuable brands. Someone just handed them they keys to the car. For them to get all pissy and territorial - all they've done to qualify as IP holders is be the highest bidder.

Clowns.

Our post modern age is desperate for new "product" to pour into recycled snake oil bottles and excite an irrational exuberance to consume.

The current high profile court actions to spin intellectual property rights into gold seem to be favoring some smart phone patents.

Turning from the dark side of economic competition, that of bleeding a rival of capital in the courts, speculative suits in pursuit of monetary profit could be the growth industry of the 21st Century!

Will keep the legions of lawyers gainfully employed and perhaps kick start and super charge the American economy like the liar loans bundled into sucker securities did last decade.

America's next economic "sugar" high.

B-soft just doing what all the other smart monied are doing.

And, the ultimate business model for this Century may be free of all the liabilities of physical inventory and air breathing employees.

And behold, this will be the utopia of 100% capital and zero percent workers, this judicial milking of ghost property.

This etherial wealth stream might pass through the biblical eye of the needle and heaven might be the exclusive gated community to which the irrationally exuberant aspire.
