UPDATE 2: Turns out the "creator" was actually a troll posing as the creator to get some lulz on 4chan or something. Anyways, our apologies to the Fallout: Equestria people for mistakenly posting the previous update as legit.

Hey, I am the female responsible for Fallout: Equestria. We had an explosion over at the IRC about this, and how negative the response to it was. I have been a fan of the Fallout franchise long before Fallout 3 made it mainstream.
I'm sure your dumbfounded just because this crossover between the MLP:FiM and Fallout universe exists, so I wanted to provide you with a link to an interview that I had, and I hope it explains why I made this.

Hey, I'm not positive that this will make it onto the headlines, but I am positive that when you read this, your minds will be shitting bricks.
As you may or may not know, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has a growing fandom of teenage and adult men called "bronies". Recently, a female fanfic writer by the name of Khat created the fanfiction "Fallout: Equestria", and ever since it's completion has grown it's own massive fanbase.
I'm not joking. It has about 100+ of it's own little spin-offs.

Can see this happening in MLP land... sure, but how does it tie in to Fallout? Does not explain. You missed the point lady. I should have just stopped reading when she used the word "ponified"."Instead, the biggest challenge was crafting a post-apocalyptic, Fallout-inspired story which a fan of My Little Pony could read and ask "Can I see this actually happening with the world of Equestria and the ponies I know?" and have the answer be, within the framework given, "Yes."
I was linked to this thread from elsewhere on the internet and thought I'd pop in to clarify a few things. Being a MLP fan who's fallen headfirst through the fanfiction for this weird fandom.
To start,
That "female" isn't the author. It's probably some troll. The actual writer (Kkat not Khat) is a guy and, from what little I've read on him, is a long time D&D GM who somehow got into whole pony fandom, and like anyone else in it has no idea how they got there. We're a weird group.
Originally he was trying to make a Fallout crossover but had to come up with a lot of backstory to turn a weird girly fantasy kingdom of ponies into a world where weapons of mass destruction, or weapons of any kind, actually exist. So in the end yes, it has very little to do with the actual fallout series and only barrows a few names and aesthetics for a grimdark fantasy adventure story. And it does take more from FO3 than any others in the series. The extensiveness of the backstory he made is what spawned so many side-stories because they had a lot to work with. His experience as a GM really shows in the way events in the story happen and characters are added to the main character's "party".
Now since you guys are already seeming bothered by the whole thing I'll tell you something worse: Not only is the original fic longer than war and peace but the biggest of its side-fics (Project Horizons) is twice as long and still nowhere near the end.
Have fun knowing all that.

Meh, people write about what tickles their fancy, I couldn't give a damn less what perfect strangers do with their free time.
The thing that bothers me is they use the Fallout name. Where's all your legal prowess now Bethesda? Thought you were legally obliged to sue the pants off anyone that uses one of 'your' words?

Yeah, I prefer the second Fallout over the rest of the franchise as much as the next guy.
I'm not a brony, but I know people who are bronies, and what ever FOX News and Howard Stern have been telling you is just making the "dark side" of the fandom appear larger than they really are. I'm also the person who posed as "Khat" and kept the e-mail field blank (just to verify).
You've pretty much became a laughing stock on 4chan.org, my good sir.

I can't argue with that statement, sir. I only posted the link because I thought you might be interested.jimmypneumatic wrote:Wow, you say that like it matters, those people will laugh at someone being disemboweled. To seriously consider oneself a brony is to never ever get fucking laid again. I cannot believe there is a community of bronies. I know there is alot of sickness on the internet, but this is weird.
