on my way to work today

06:30, rain was pouring down.
I listened to Johnny Cash, and I cried.

With no good reason to do so.

sure, :spacecat: couldn't fly. But was catcopter made in the harsh autumns of England on zero budget, as an agent of coincidence and brutality? Did people ask that artist to take catcopter home and bury it in the cold earth? No. I am ahead of the curve. In one thousand years people will only just be pouring vaseline onto a speaker and watching it roll and undulate over Madonna. In ten thousand years people will take up creating fake people and leaving them in the wilderness for hikers to discover. And as the last atoms lose themselves to entropy and the last molecule of all that existed happens to be a fish tank full of spaghetti well, what can I say except 'I told u so'

It was there. Amongst other. At some point I even felt rather patriotic. As in patriotic American. But I'm not. American that is. Or very patriotic.

Part if it might be that I had spent much of the weekend drinking. And sleeping less than I should have.

Basically, whenever I hear a Cash song I burst into my own inaccurate emo rendition of "Cry cry cry" to drown it out and annoy whoever else is listening. His best stuff were covers anyway. I mean, sure, some people say a man is made out of mud. A poor man's made outta muscle and blood. Muscle and blood and skin and bones, a mind that's weak and a back that's strong. You load sixteen tons, and what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt. St. Peter don't you call me 'cause I can't go -- I owe my soul to the company store.

Oh yeah I went to that dumb thing. I drank Mi-So soup outside a gallery then listened to old men tell war stories. I was expecting something a bit more like Ballard and all I got was Clancy, romancing the kidney stones looking at power point auschwitz lectures again and again. I went outside and there was a painting like this

I also started a new job this week answering ebay questions for a sports company, which is terrible and I mean literally terrifying.
