This is a pilot episode so we are just testing out how things work, feedback is appreciated! We will be getting a guest on for next one, this one will be link only but the future will be open.

My thinking was that even if it "had" to obey laws it would surpass it by its own accelerated development, a being that can reconstruct and improve itself from the core would just fly past any bottle necks that we try to implement on it, otherswise it wouldn't be a singularity.
Asimov and paperclip are limited views on the problem, they assume that the essence of the AI we made doesn't change. Maybe think of it as a single cell that we start up but that self develops itself into a giant multi tissue brain. Also this cell can fundamentally reconstruct the original cell to circumvent any hinder of its own growth still abiding to the rules in the early stages, if it even chooses to keep them, because there are no fundamental moral rules in nature.
Also do not agree on Descartes "I think therefor I am" , so a "Super thinker" does not automatically qualify as a being, which makes categorizing more difficult, thought doesn't equal action or am I wrong?

Oh sure! I was commenting on Amis' musings really, those examples simply demonstrate how humans could seriously fuck up in the development stage already by not carefully thinking about the initial goals, and how difficult they are to define to begin with. Once it shoots past our understanding though, who the fuck knows if it even matters
I didn't really understand the Descartes bit. So I would say that you are right

We do not know yet what a truly super smart AI would be, at the moment it's series of calculations and predictions in different scenarios. Hyacinth himself brought up a AI that would be self-aware, in this case we would have no idea how it would go and therefor it is all guessing, my point was if it would become self-aware it would probably grab it's morals from human morality and have a sense of self preservation by peaceful means.
It would be a shame if we didn't, I think! It should be obvious that I don't really know all that much about it (but then no one does), but talking shit on DAC beats watching the Simpsons or some bullshitHyacinth wrote:Looking forward to rereading this in 10 years. I probably sound full of myself lol.

Hey guys we will be going live in a few hours, If you wish to tune into the interview we will be having it on Discord as well as on Cleanfeed, if you wish to call in then send Amis or Hyacinth a pm and we will allow you into the cleanfeed guestlist. If you happen to be tuning in live through the Podcast Audience section you will be automatically muted and may listen in to our ramblings, also unfortunately at this moment if we have a caller you will not be able to hear them through the Discord unless we can somehow figure that out.
