Not really, but it can be sort of fun. I think it'll get repetitive fast, there's not a lot of variety thus far
Considering you have to spend maybe a third of your time in various menus, the lack of effort put into navigating them easily is astounding. For example there are a lot of menus where you can't click on things even though it would be the most intuitive thing to do; you have to hover your mouse over a thing and then press a keyboard button. And the items in your inventory are divided into 10 or so categories, but you can't see them all at once, you have to scroll a bit, because... the game is shit I guess? All in all it feels like the development team had played about 3 games before F76, and then put together their own game with zero original ideas.
The first mission I took on hinted at the possibility of joining a group of raiders or siding with the good guys, but then it spiraled into a sequence of fedex / dungeon clearing bullshit and in the end there was no choice anyway. Avoid NPC contact at all costs.
The game cost 13 bucks or so, I've gotten my money's worth. I wouldn't pay more though.
you can create cool faces for your characters

Bethesda Says Please Give 'Fallout 76' Another Chance After Hard Lessons
listen up "Tucker" the story fucking sucks, the writing sucks, the dialogue system sucks so nobody even cares about that shit, if you wanted to make a story-driven game why not just make Fallout 5 instead of this mess? I just want to build a habbo hotel in the middle of the desert but the game has no desert and you've made the base-building system excruciating to use so I dunno. I still play it though, I guess I kind of enjoy how fucked up everything is. Overall I think this game has a little something for everyone and I would rate it 9.2 / 10Tucker continued: "This is now a very story-driven game. You're gonna have some great interactions with NPCs and some interesting choices. There's a lot of deep storytelling going on."

That's good, I thought I'd better undersell it just in case someone wants to try it anyway. Yeah it's not the worst. There's just a million things that could be better but hey I guess that's life after the nuclear war for you.SenisterDenister wrote:Against all my better judgement I bought '76. It's not terrible I guess, but I keep having a bug where I'm frozen at a workbench and have to either exit the game or quick travel away from it.
My Bethesda name is RexExitium if you want to buddy up some time, Megatron and Hyacinth and Amis have the game too. We are all very Europe based tho, #based
My favourite part about the workbenches is that you have to listen to a blacksmith.wav hammering sample forever when you just want to upgrade your armor or something. I haven't encountered any game breaking bugs yet, just some AI glitches for the most part, and stuff like this constantly of course
