New Vegas or Fallout 2

Discuss the game that started it all, and its sequel. Technical questions and issues go into the Fallout Technical Support forum, not here.

I prefer FO2 over all of them. FO1 is in a tie for second with FONV. FO4 trumps FO3, no doubt, and Tactics is just not my thing. The BOS game on the XBOX was kinda neat for what it was, but again..not my cup of tea.

The bots are getting smarter, or people are becoming bot-like.

Both?

I opened the thread because it said posted by Guest, and I read the post and got very confused. It sounded very familiar and I agreed with everything OP was saying. Then I realized it was me. It's a vicious cycle.

We're going to end up like those bots on old counterstrike servers forever talking to one another about how much they like ice cream.

I pretty much agree with this. I think people have a tendency to prefer the one they played first, which for me was Fallout 2; I still remember the first time I saw my friend playing it, sniping some vagrants and kids in the head from across the screen. I loved Jagged Alliance and I love post-apocalyptic shit so I was sold at that point. Got a pirated copy off him and the rest is history. I'd say Fallout 1 was objectively better but I am not an object I am a human being. I thought New Vegas was pretty good, never really played 3 or 4 though, or BOS. Well I tried 3 but it was a bunch of bullshit.

ATOM RPG is basically a 3D Russian Fallout 2, in terms of gameplay. It's solid. The sequel is shaping up to be good, too.

How well does this compare to old Fallout games? I have been searching for a game that scratch this itch but was never successful on mobile.

I really like it, actually feels like going back to playing a Falloutesque RPG back in the day! Quests are actually engaging.

Well here's one particular thing to differentiate the two games, to paraphrase something that BrenDaniel said...

"Can you become the king of porn in New Vegas like you can in Fallout 2?"

Also, here's another question that I've come up with too:

Can you become a Boxing Champion in New Vegas like you do in Fallout 2???

CHECKMATE!

I played ATOM and didn't care for it much. Good way to pass some time, but I just didn't get hooked. There was another game that got me to play to completion, though: Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden. It was plenty of fun. Biomutant didn't live up to the hype.

My youngest finished FO1 a few months back and enjoyed it enough to go to FO2..He beat that a couple weeks back and also liked it more than FO1. His favorite is FO4, though. I'm just happy he tried the originals because my oldest never cared to.
