any good tv shows out there r/n

Talk about music, movies, TV, books, other types of entertainment and what your vices are. Also, if you're addicted to the high you get off Aspirin, this is the place to talk about it.

Post by Jeff »

lke this year in general, streaming and such

i watched the latest season of the boys but guess they decided to go woke or go broke, i mean the political innuendo was never subtle or anything but now it's like watching twitter on tv, and the gorefest is more like borefest

not been a good year for tv shosws maybe. shogun was... alright i guess but i prefer this

Mostly been watching anime. I also watch the show Alone with my dad. Interesting premise, they drop like 25 people out in Alaska a few weeks before winter sets in and tell them "don't die, here's a satellite phone if you puss out" and then it's last man standing. The people have to record their own footage with equipment dropped off by the producers, get their own food, shelter, everything. They fish, hunt, forage, and try not to die. People get so sick or weak from malnutrition they miss a daily check on those satellite phones and they're forced out. The longest a game went before somebody won was like 87 days alone in the wilderness.

Anime's where it's at anyway, any recommendations?

Been watching loads of 90s anime shows this year, Dragon Ball, Great Teacher Onizuka, Slam Dunk, gonna get started on Sailor Moon next I guess. So mostly just mediocre rubbish with a lot of filler, wouldn't recommend any of them except for Initial D which I loved. There's just something about the hand drawn 90s era anime art style that I really like, both in character design and environments

Of the more recent stuff I really liked Frieren despite some pacing issues. Very chill and deals with the passage of time in an interesting way

Ah yes, Perfect Blue. Such a classic movie, with its themes & meaning that's STILL relevant to this day!

:D :yikes:

Frieren and Dungeon Meshi for what's good right now. Uzumaki is airing later this month, which is based off of a horror manga by Junji Ito.

Severance on Apple TV is pretty good and about to get a 2nd season. The Expanse is also a good sci fi that keeps getting rumours of a 7th season.

My current trash tv show in watching at the moment is From. It's a fucking terrible show.
