Hm. I guess we'll just agree to disagree, then. Mighty strange one, you are. [Regards Haplo quizically, like he's an odd sort of insect.]

[voodoo writes a note explaining his own abhorrence of nearly 90% of modern pop culture, save for the occasional well-written song or clever movie. Gives the note to Haplo. Waits for Haplo's shocked expression and subsequent apology. Gets a sigh and a "whatever, dude" instead. Goes off and sulks.]Haplo wrote:*Haplo regards voodoo as some sort of over-pop-indulged juvenile with far to much time on his hands...*

*Haplo writes on on the note, and leaves, and voodoo is shocked to see that it says "When you reach 99%, I might believe it. But a person taht watches Buffy and listens to Missy Elliot is far to absorbed in pop culture for my tastes." Voodoo, having read the horrible truth, returns to his corner and cries.

[voodoo, seething with rage, asks Haplo what's more important - popularity or quality? Because Buffy is a quality show, and Missy Elliott makes quality music. And if you want to talk about being a typical pop-culture absorbed teenager, find another 17-year old who lists Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, Memento, The Limey, Out of Sight, and Traffic as his top 5 favorite movies. Waits again for Haplo's shocked response. Gets ignored again.

Never saw those movies, don't care too either. To be truly anti pop, you must watch movies that are at least 10 years old. And! you don't watch that much TV, instead read and think for yourself. Abandon namebrand clothes for cheaper, but more dependable clothes. And if you think Buffy is quality programming, I feel sorry for you.

Well, for the record:
- I don't wear name brand clothes, on the whole
- I publish a website, write stories, draw comics, paint, and sketch - therefore, I most certainly can "think for myself"
- I've been a rabid reader since early childhood, often preferring a good book to a bike ride (just ask my mom)
- I have fairly diverse musical tastes (just ask my friends)
And, when all is said and done, who the fuck cares? Where is the pleasure in being "anti-pop"? Just because something is popular doesn't mean it sucks. You're starting to sound like a culture fascist, and trust me, that is not a good thing. Get a grip.
