Yes it's very good for a drop of realism in maps. You can make it an entity yes. Have a look on Max-V's and Endocore maps. There must be some instances there. Certainly when JJ86 will release his "Quartz" map I'm expecting to see some, probably OTB's demo even.
Point taken.
Well, ofcourse if you go for the "all dark and pessimistc feel" map it would be, ...erm pointless( ) to go for such tiles.
Yes, it comes with one. It's O.K. to be unfamiliar with some of the editors we didn't discuss them much recently. Too many areas were covered before so less questions come up as time passes. If you have some time, you could spend some time browsing through the older posts. I personally have at least 300 text files of all the discussions we had on various issues. That does make sense... does the sprite come with it's own bounding box, though? (Marvel, as I demonstrate my ignorance. )
Also it might be helpfull to read JJ86's enhanced readme. It will probably make your work much easier. If you go to the very first page chronologically, you should even find subjects on Map designing philosophy(I quite liked that subject, unfortunatelly it faded away fast). Much stuff was lost for DAC when it moved. Perhaps we should make an old DAC archives database somewhere.
