Soldiers of Anarchy demo released

Post by Saint_Proverbius »

<strong>[Game -> Update]</strong>

The official demo for <A href="http://soldiers-of-anarchy.com">Soldiers of Anarchy</a> has been released. It's 108MB and can be retrieved from <A href="http://www.3dgamers.com/games/soldiersanarchy/">3D Gamers</a>, <a href="http://www.bluesnews.com/files/demos/so ... ml">Blue's News</a>, and <A href="http://www.planetmirror.com/pub/bluesne ... Australia). For those who don't know what <a href="http://soldiers-of-anarchy.com">SoA</a> is, you can check out our <A href="http://www.duckandcover.net/features/in ... terview</a> with <b>Carsten Strehse</b>.
<br>
<br><b>Update from Kreegle:</b>
<br>If any of you are having problems launching the demo (like me), don't fear - the official word from the developers is that they're aware of the problem and are hoping to release a patch by the end of this week.

It works for me. It's Kreegle that can't get it to run.

As for a review, I didn't care much for it. It runs rather choppy on my 1GHz Athlon, 256MB, Radeon AiW machine - and I'm far over the minimum specs here.

One of the id software guys said it was choppy on his 2.2GHz machine with a gig of RAM, and a GeForce 4, so it may be certain configs it doesn't like.

Like not working properly on both major processors and video cards? Maybe if you run it on a Cyrix with a Matrox card...
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

Ok I downloaded the demo

I liked it. Very open ended and challenging. Hope they add something to pause time and give out orders or something.

I'm going to buy it anyway.

I'd much rather have turn based, frankly. Games like this pretty much scream for TB.

Yeah

Vechile combat would be kinda weird though.

If they had tb and real time options it would be better

It would fuck the TB system, like it did in Arcanum.

My computer seems to have to be connected to the internet to start-up

Try that.

Kreegle has a constant connection to the internet and he was crashing on start up. He hasn't tried the patch though.

Direct X 8.1 (4.08.01.0881)

Nope, still not working. The patch doesn't fix anything.

Did you try and ask Tusk?

I wonder if he'll reply...
