Fallout Siege
Fallout Siege
<strong>[ Mod -> Update ]</strong>
It's already been mentioned down in our <!-- BBCode Start --><a href="http://www.duckandcover.net/forums/viewforum.php?f=18" target="_blank">'Other Fallout-Themed Mods'</a><!-- BBCode End --> section, but seeing as how 'notsoleet' sent along the email, I thought it was worth the mention:
<!-- BBCode Quote Start --><!-- BBCode Quote End -->
<blockquote><a href="http://www.falloutsiege.com/" target="_self">http://www.falloutsiege.com/</a>
these guys are making a mod that will convert the dungeon siege world into a fallout world
just figured I'd let you guys know
</blockquote>
Could be interesting... if anything, it might give a little bit more purpose to my last game purchase (fingers tightly crossed).

Sounds cool, but I'm not going to buy Dungeon Siege just to play it...

Does that mean that you bought Dungeon Siege, Kreegle?Kreegle wrote:Could be interesting... if anything, it might give a little bit more purpose to my last game purchase (fingers tightly crossed).
If so, then could you give a little review about it or just give a recommendation on whether to buy it?
Quick review (from the short time I've played it):
- Very, very nice graphics.
Easy to use interface.
Interesting character development system (the more you use magic, the better you are at it... rather than getting "skill points" to invest in anything you want)
Reasonable sense of advancement.
Fun when you're drunk.
Not really an RPG... no dialog or "decisions" to make, apart from deciding how your character develops.
Combat gets tedious and annoying all too soon.
As deep and complex as a wooden spoon.
Levels are basically "long tunnels" - no branches.
Trees and other "scenery" are just eye-candy... they don't affect the game at all. You can walk through them.
Predictable enemy placement (to an extent).

This means the game will require a very very fancy computer, right?Kreegle wrote:Quick review (from the short time I've played it):

It's interesting - yes. It's realistic - yes. It's working - no.Kreegle wrote:Interesting character development system (the more you use magic, the better you are at it... rather than getting "skill points" to invest in anything you want)
At least in Quest For Glory, it sucked total ass. You could reach for example your strength up to 500 in 1 hour (real time) practicing, but then if you didn't fight all the time it dropped to 450 in 15 minutes.
