Fallout still #1 at RPGDot

Zed just told me that <A href="http://interplay.com/fallout/">Fallout</a> was still the <A href="http://www.rpgdot.com/index.php?hsaction=10070">#1 rated RPG</a> at <a href="http://rpgdot.com/">RPGDot</a>, with 285 votes and an average vote of 9.05. Not bad for a site that covers all CRPGs ever made.<a href="http://interplay.com/fallout2">Fallout 2</a> is ranked third, just behind <a href="http://morrowind.com/">Morrowind</a>. Some of the games on the list aren't even RPGs.

Well "Role Playing" is such a wide category...

In B&W's case, they might've thought that taking the role of a God and training your Pet makes it an RPG...

Yeah, sadly the RPG category is considered very wide in computer gaming, but I'm sure you agree B&W isn't an RPG.

But I can't understand why they even list obvious FPS's and RTS's, since they belong to another category. Skills and experience isn't 'Role playing'.

Because we do some crossovers from time to time - if we find a game interesting, if it has a fantasy setting, if it was announced as an RPG and turned out to be none.

RPGDot.com just put everything on the list that resembles an RPG to avoid the llama, "WHAT ABOUT DUESEEX?! ITS AN RPG!" crying.

Judging by the voting tallies though, I think it's clear that their user base knows the difference for the most part.
