IIRC During WW2 the germans tryd using the occult to bring a demon to fight for them. As the demon was summoned allied forces came. The demon decided to fight with the allys and uh...I dunno what happens next.
Yeah, every two-bit sleaze is using that schtick now. Hollywood is even worse than the game industry. Like how many "meteorite movies" have there been in 99-00? Then Mars movies in 01-02? It seems like they get into a huddle and take one basic concept and go off to see who can do the best interperetation of it.
Hahahaha.

It seems games follow a similiar vein. This year it seems WW2 games are the thing to copy and copy.

You're not even touching on all these greco-roman film projects taking flight after the success Gladiator had. The two Alexander the Great projects (Luhrmann and DiCaprion // Oliver Stone and ? I think colin farrel was the latest rumour) plus the best of the bunch, at least i think, is Wolfgang Petersen's attempt to put the iliad on screen "Troy" ... Brad Pitt as achilles.
The answer to your first question is shaddup.

True, Killzig, but I was only putting in a few examples. It would be far too much to really list all the copycatting in the movie industry. Lately, though, it seems like it's become more reular. Deep Impact, Armageddon, some low-budget gangsta trash movie with a meteorite threat, etc.

As for Jeunet and Caro breaking up, I didn't know about that. Is a bit of a shame...Delicatessen was great, Citie was almost unbelievable in some ways and the surreal tone. There needs to be more movies like that, but not like Un Chien Andaleu(sp?) which were just bizarre. On a note, filmfreekcentral had their heads up their asses when they compared Freddy Got Fingered with that movie, saying it was a balm of the bizarre that's not supposed to make sense. FGF doesn't make sense because it's shit, almost as bad as most SNL movies after the mid-90's.
