IPLY's plan in action.

Post by Saint_Proverbius »

[Company -> Update]

IPLY closed today at a new record low, $0.10/share. It actually hit as low as $0.08/share during today's trading. This, of course, follows their request for a stay of delistment hearing last month to tell NASDAQ that they had A PLAN to get their stock above the required $1/share mark.I wonder if that plan was "playing o'possum". Make the market think you're dead, then surprise them with a rally!

So, if the DAC community chipped in like $5 per person, we could actually buy Interplay? Hmm... Maybe then we could force them to sell the license to Troika.

That's the third time I've heard that one this week. If it happens, I'll cater the celebration dinner.

One good thing if they do go under is no worries about when Fallout is coming out, and about the quality if it came out.

Well, unless one of the many financial institutions Interplay owe money to decide to take licenses as payment.

That's not the total number of stocks out there. There's actually around 50,000,000 shares of IPLY floating around.

In the present atmosphere, thick with the smell of dirty linen, if a corp. lies it could die.

And we know that I-play saves their best aggressive 'accounts' for the spin they spiel about their products. That might imply I-play is a game company.

That sounds like a fucked-up plan if you ask me. But who knows, if it works then I guess it's alright. :?

I find this thread a little harsh considering the wider economic climate. Many tech shares were hit by stock slump today. Surely Interplay couldn't have been expected to rise when people like Cisco and Oracle are being hit hard?

I'm not saying their plan holds water or doesn't (I haven't read it). I'm just saying that it is extremely unlikely a dodgy prospect like them would've got away without a fall on a day like today, whatever their plan. NASDAQ will realise that too, I'd imagine.

Actually, both the DJIA and NASDAQ surged yesterday when I posted this. The DJIA was up over 300 points and NASDAQ was up 50 points. IPLY hit it's record low when the stock markets closed UP, not DOWN.

Really, the reason they closed DOWN today is because they were UP so much yesterday.

The drop was more marked after the rally, certainly, but it was still a dip instead of a rise. Dips do not inevitably follow rises. There is such a thing as a sustained rise. Don't hold your breath waiting for one, though.

You're right about the market being up when you posted. I hadn't looked at the date of your post. That's what I get for not visiting often enough. However, you phrasing is a little amusing:

Tell me before you post another, so I can make a timely investment ;)

I said that earlier as well. If we actually do it, we might, wait, make that probably will be able to get enough voes an be heard among the stockholders to make them sell the damn license.

Rewasons:

1) They aren't using it. Why not sell it?
2)They need money. Why not sell an unused-license?
3)Troika will make a game that'll actually be bought. Why make it, watse time, then not sell enough games for a profit?

That may be the situation now, but who knows what plans for the future they have?
2)They need money. Why not sell an unused-license?
Sell away a license with potential to be a big seller? Fallout 3 is probably the best unused license these guys have right now, I'd certainly consider twice before selling it just for short-term profit.

Personally I hope that IPLY would go down the toilet, forcing to sell their licences. Fallout licence would probably be the first one to be bought. Problem solved. Assuming of course those damn frenchies wont claim the licence. I know IPLY is one of the oldest and most respected game companies there are, but in reality IPLY today is nothing more than a Titus-bitch.

How about making the fucking game if it's a potential big seller instead of skimping the license.

Shiny's Matrix.
Then probably FO, to be honest.
Also, just realized how likely that is.
