Those damn infantrymen and their hazing ceremonies - I thought I'd made it clear I didn't want any more "flare down the toilet" incidents.

I don't understand why all those bitchy Lionheart fanboys are against the game being dark.
It's called atmosphere. It may be cliched, but it's a whole lot better than the lack of it, which can be seen in Baldur's Gate.

Well, I'm not a Lionheart fanboy - I'm not even sure I'll buy the game, the way it's shaping up - but I don't like dark games. I think darkness being equated with atmosphere is a mistake made by film directors and games creators who can't come up with a more original way of creating a distinctive mise-en-scène.

It's better than a total lack of atmosphere though, don't you think?

There's a difference between atmosphere and eye strain. Dark is fine. When you really can't see much even when brightness, etc. have been tweaked, then there's something wrong.

On that note, this one *does* have a bit more visibility than some of the others. With the (albeit few) titles they've worked on, Reflexive should know that items like this font are going to make the game absolute hell sometimes. http://www.duckandcover.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2948

Must be my monitor then, or my eyes.
I haven't had any trouble with seeing any of them properly.

Anyone ever notice that some developers use darkness to hide shoddy graphics?
Could be the case here, since the only daylight shot I've seen looked like shit.

Neat. At least the graphics are softer than in IE games, and I don't mind the game being a bit darker than usual. That same pic already was posted by Killzig on the News page a couple of days ago, anyhoo there's also a new screenie on the official Lionheart page.

It's not Fallout, but this is the first game since Arcanum I've been excited about playing. At least it's twisting the standard medieval swords and sorcery genre with a little creative torque.
