I'm sorry but my screen is perfectly normal and I have no trouble with it and I shouldn't be toying with gamma just because a game was poorly implimented.
I don't know what's up with games being too dark lately... Used to be I left everything at the default gamma level.
Then again I only really have 2 examples of games being too dark, and one of them isn't even released yet... (The other being Arx Fatalis for those who'd like to know).

Why should I fuck up the brightness for everything else just to see a shit screenshot for a game I'll never play?bloodbathmaster2 wrote:If you dont like the screenshots dark, then turn your gamma up, you whiny little whores.
When Lionheart comes out 90% of the people who "buy" it will complain about it being too damn dark. Remember I said that. You're probably gonna be the first person bitching at Black Isle to release a gamma correction patch.
Well, I think these screenshots are darker than in reality for some reason. If you look at the small pics here you notice they're a lot brighter than the actual screenies. I think that's also the gamma-level in-game. Or maybe they're testing how it looks at night. But on the other hand, I'm only guessing.

Well, Baldur's Gate 2 was quite dark. At least compared to Baldur's Gate 1. Darkness is the last thing that worries me though. I'm sure there are gamma settings you can tweak if you don't like the darkness, but on the other hand I do think it gives a game a more atmospheric look like it did to PS:T.
MM, you should give Lionheart a chance. It's obvious you don't like it because it's not Fallout 3, but I don't consider it as a Baldur's Gate spinoff either. Stuff like a dark, renaissance setting, the SPECIAL system and non-Infinity engine make it more interesting than other BIS titles, like let's say IWD II.

It being real-time is what irritates me the most personally. You can be sure the game will feature a "gamma slider" anyhow... That's pretty standard. I just hope I don't have to fiddle with it.
I'll still give it a try personally, see how it fares out. I hope they make a demo so I don't have to actually buy it.

No, I never expected them to make a Fallout 3 and never will. It's disappointing, but I won't let it effect me. The Lionheart fans are those people who are easily distracted by all the smoke and mirrors the developers place in order to make you think the game is something new.VasikkA wrote:

Dark lighting = smoke and mirrors
renaissance setting = smoke and mirrors
SPECIAL system = smoke and mirrors
A swords and sorcery game is a swords and sorcery game is a swords and sorcery game. There's no way to get around this fact. Maybe for other people who are live in a happy world where everything is perfect and they sing songs and dance in the streets. But not for me.

Arcanum had swords&sorcery. Does that mean that it might as well be set in the Forgotten Realms setting? Of course not!
PS: T had swords and sorcery. Does that mean that it might as well be set in Grawhawk? No.
Please, be careful.
Just because a game has swords and sorcery, do not jump to the conclusion that it it is set ca. 1130, with grotesquly mediocre level desingn (Wow! More gray castle walls) is foolish.

Damn!
If the screenshots thus far are any indication, it seems Lionheart is heavily weighted in favor of the "Circle" school of spells. I had really hoped to be a Rhombus Mage, or maybe a Triangumancer like my L99 "Isosceles" character on Geometry Online. Bummer.

It's not swords and sorcery, it's Galileo & Goblins!Mad Max RW wrote:Dark lighting = smoke and mirrors

Lol. FREE GALILEO!
Back to the whiny bitches, personally, I don't see anything unbearably dark about the screenshots and I haven't messed with my gamma since I got this computer. Supposing even that my gamma is way higher than average (which I know its not 'cause I still get capped by people in the shadows in CS) its supposed to be a little dark simply because its set in the dark ages.
