Q&A with the developers of Bandits - Phoenix Rising

Post by Kreegle »

[ -> N/A]

ActionVault have slapped up part two of their Q&A with the developers of Bandits: Phoenix Rising (oops, looks like we missed part one... you can check that out here). Bandits is a post-apocalyptic vehicle-combat action game, if you were wondering... anyway, here's a sample of the interview:
Action Vault: Which of the vehicles in the game is your personal favorite, and what are the weapons and tactics you prefer to use with it?

Martin Waern

Producer

My favourite set up must be the Badger, the first vehicle you get in the game, when equipping it with the sniper rifle and my favourite grenade launcher, the Umbrella Bomb.

The thing here is to get hold of the special ammo, which makes the sniper bullets more lethal. Now, I can blast almost all enemy vehicles with one single shot. Since the sniper turret has a low rotation speed, it is not optimal in close combat. I have, however, developed a technique where I use the boost to get some distance from my enemies and then use the handbrake to turn the car around; this way I don't have to wait for the turret to rotate into position. Now I'm facing my enemies with the weapon pointing right at them and I can start shooting with my precious special ammo. I use the Umbrella Bomb as an effective backup weapon bombarding a larger area, making a whole group of enemies receive damage at the same time.
The whole thing is right here. There's also a bunch of new screenshots here... pretty! Wow, Monster truck madness meets Fallout. The screenshots look nice though.
