He means that in the European versions of the games, the kids in the Den were removed (so that you couldn't kill them, which is prohibited in games by law), but not their floats. Thus, there are still ghostly "Come and see the Mummy!"-s and "Gamble at Becky's!"-s and so on.
you know if they got your stuff if they run back to tubby or whatnot, then you have to barter for whatever it was. usually keep a few extra KeyCards, and they just steal those
Or you could jsut kill Tubby thats what I always did because the town dosen't go hostile when you kill him. Plus I was always trying to get more positive karma.
I think that goes for all of the "anarchistic" towns in the game except New Reno. But, I could of course be wrong.
If you wait a few seconds after entering the Den, some peasant fellow will walk out the door, giving you the possibility of running through it, evading the thieving little kids.
Had the same problem as the Refrigerator. In my second game the invisible kid stole my car part from Klamath, and the car was really eating lots of fuel all game. I learned of the kids later and was playing with the kid patch ever since. I guess the best way to avoid being robbed is entering the combat mode before going through.
Hmm.. It took me some time to realise that those voices belonged to kids who's sprites were left out of the game, but similary I didn't even notice they stole something from my character. Ignorant, but hey, it worked too.
Before the war, they were know as milking machines.
Now I use one to piss.
Does that answer your question?
I solved the problem (when they managed to steal from me, that is) by stealing my stuff back from them, since they don't turn hostile if you get caught.
Yeah, but the junkies always take like ten minutes to move. I much prefer the "suicide bomber" method.
You don't have to let anyone move, just enter combat mode, move like 4 hexes and exit combat. It takes just a while - junkies don't take their turn (they wouldn't move anyway).
