Gamer's Hell interviews on Rabid Dogs
[ -> Interview]
Gamer's Hell, or as I like to call it, "The Pimple on the Ass of the Internet", has posted an <a href="http://www.gamershell.com/reviews/Rabid ... terview with Zuxxez about their up coming tactical CRPG game, Rabid Dogs. Here's a taste:
“Turn-based; can you explain further what this will mean for a Rabid Dogs² player?The character movements and actions (except fighting) are in real-time. The game switches into turn-based mode in that moment the player and the enemy have visual contact or in that moment the bullets start flying – similar as in games like Jagged Alliance or Fallout Tactics.In turn-based games the player and his opponent (the AI) take turns (similar as in Chess). During a turn, each character has a certain amount of action points (AP), and each action costs some APs (e.g. a shot).Turn-based games have their advantages: 1. the player has the possibility to think about potential strategies and 2. this mode allows him to take total control over his characters.
How sad is it when an gaming news interviewer has to ask a developer what Turn Based is?I saw this nugget over at Shack News and couldn't resist posting it.Kudos to Mesc A. Lyn for also emailing me about this story.

Re: ?
Read the interview, the question that follows the "What is Turn Based?" one is "What is a CRPG?"Aerothorn wrote:Its not sad at all. They were asking him to extrapolate- like, is it Civ III turn based, or Fallout turn based, or what? Thats all. Newsposters here sure are bitter.
Someone thought so, because shortly after I posted it, I got an email on our news email account telling me about this interview as well.Spazmo wrote:So this doesn't actually have anything to do will Fallout or any post-apocalyptic games? I agree that it's dumb (regardless of the question, the answer was the basics of what TB is), but newsworthy?
Let's see.. Guns.. Turn based combat.. open ended game play.. Nope, I can't see what interest some of our readers would have in this game!
We've also posted Jagged Alliance news as well as X-Com news here before, so it's not that much of a stretch. Chaulk it up to a slow news day. However, just to make you feel better, I'll underline the part where he says it's similar to JA2 and Fallout Tactics.

I also posted about this game on Vault13.net when it was announced. Hell, it's not a mainstream, typical game, and like I said, there's some stuff people who read this site about the game might actually enjoy.
It may not be post apocalyptic, but people who enjoyed Fallout's or Fallout Tactics' guns and turn based combat system would probably enjoy something similar. I know I'm interested in the title.

Not the first one, I played JA2 for a month or so though. Good game. Just remember to garrison your towns before you pick up and move on. I learned that lesson the hard way my first time.
Furthermore, I re-read through the interview. The interviewer even asked what kind of engine they were using, 2D or 3D. LOOK AT THE BLOODY SCREENSHOTS, GUYS!
Is there any wonder I have a low option of that site?

The one Yurg and his buddies were making? Kreegle gets pissy when he sees the name, "Yurg", so I'm not allowed to post Yurg stuff anymore because Kreegle's mad at Yurg. Since a happy Kreeg is a good Kreeg, I won't mention Yurg anymore. Nope, no Yurg talk from me, ever again.Mr Carrot wrote:What happened to that fancy bullet time game jobbie that was user made and posted yonks ago?
