win2k installing... no help found

Post by Strap »

i did as it said on NMA/iplay site to install FO1 under win2k or xp, but, after doing exactly as it said i still cant play it. it claims that i dont have 20mb of free space on the hard drive, when in fact i have over 3 gigs...

im running win2k, and i havnt found any help on that problem elsewhere.

Click on the link below for instructions on how to manually transfer Fallout 1 onto your computer under Windows NT/2000/XP.

http://www.interplay.com/fallout/faq.html

Also copy the critter.dat file to the fallout directory.

To run Fallout 1 under XP, you also need to run the compatability program: Start->Programs->Utilities(?)->Program-Compability Assistant

????????
The answer to your first question is shaddup.

no... i did that already, but there's this error that pops up saying i dont have enough room:

iff you cant read it, it says that "you must have at least 20 mb of free space to run the program"
and on the right is my hard drive with like 2.5 gigs free

Hey, no swearing!

You probably haven't installed it correctly, try to re-install it.

yea i know... i have a 4x also. its way slow.

but anyway, i solved my problem, i just copied the DOS version of the game (Fallout.___) and made it into and exe, and it worked fine.

but i dont remember, does the DOS version have cruddyer graphics than the windows version?

dont matter now.. i just beat it a few minutes ago. i made the master realize his futility in making an endless suply of sterile supermutants.
thanks anyway
