Fallout Bible #9

Post by Kreegle »

[ -> N/A]

Fallout Bible #9 is out! Chris Avellone has been busy as usual, and has packed this one full of interesting stuff. What you can expect:
Experience thrills and chills with an interview with Fallout designer/programmer Jess Heinig who wrote Zax, helped set up Junktown, and spends his time trying not to body-block Enterprise's Jolene Blalock, some assorted trivia that Jess was happy to pass along (curious how the end cinematic sequences in Junktown were supposed to go?), brahmin and gender identity issues, mutants and sex, info on Patrick the Celt from F1, some questions and answers (but not as much as FOB 8), lots of pies being thrown by Canadians, the truth about the Brotherhood of Steel, honoring the Fallout flag, the winner of the Ink Spots contest, and yet more fallout from our favorite post-holocaust world of the future.
Yay. You can grab the Word Document version from here, or alternatively you can get the Adobe Acrobat version from here. Thanks Tim!

Some good stuff here. I like how Junktown's ending was originally supposed to go. Stupid marketing.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

The 'Kaga' thingy seems interesting, but kinda annoying. I'm happy it was removed.

Also, the 'original' Fallout 2 design team(before the Troika trio) seemed to have weird ideas for the Fallout 2 storyline; city of androids, main char going into space etc..
That part was new to me, as I don't have the official FO2 strategy guide. But still, I can only imagine what Fallout 2 could have become...

A lot of interesting stuff, thank yo MCA.

Man I haven't even finished reading the last 2. I'll add this one to the list.

I knew all the time there was something fishy about the MacGyver guy. I never really liked him. :wink: That ending would be just soooo cool. Kaga would suck big time - Sulik wouldn't let him get away :P

What's this thing with tribals having deadly enemies? Sulik had Shadow-who-walks and the Chosen One had Kaga.
P.S.: I bet Red didn't earn any popularity points with MCA.

I think Chris should start realizing Falllout is a mature rated game and that he isn't dealing with a kindergarden fanbase.

His attempts at humor are infantile at best.

You know, in light of the whole "exploring the ethics of a post-nuclear world" issue, it's sad that marketing interfered w/the Junktown ending.

Perhaps the stuff shirts were right in doing it, though. After all, I know that I would have gotten the urge to help the local crime lords out and increase gambling, prostitution and drug use in my neighborhood after having played FO1 w/that ending. :roll:
