Ghosts of the Den

Post by spyder07 »

I'm sure I sound really stupid but has anybody every gotten the quest to return the locket to the ghost in the den? I just got it and I've played Fallout 2 through about 6 times. There's just so much to do in that game.

Yeah, I usually do that one for some easy XP. I think this quest is a major argument against Fallout 2, isn't it?

That book can be anywhere. It's placed at specific points at random.

Yeah there's 4 you can find it, I think anyway. One's near a barrel, another near the crapper, another in the graveyard hidden behind the chapel. I don't think I ever had the fourth location though, so I don't know where it is.

Funny thing is, in every single one of my games, it's by the crapper. Weird...

The fourth place is on the right from the Slavers building, behind one of those broken walls.

BTW do you bury Anna's bones after returning the locket to her? It's more easy exp. Take the shovel from the bookshelf in the room where Anna is. Then go to the east side of town and find her grave. Use the shovel on the grave, drop the bones in and use the shovel again.
I think this is part of the quest anyway, but I'm not sure.

You get 600 exp from doing that. That's more exp than the locket quest.

Yeah I do that. I've checked the crapper and the part by the slavers guild, but I'm not sure about the others. I'll go check them now.

that book quest is kinda crappy, well, for finding a book $50 is more than enough..

i always get the locket by talking with "Mom" about joey, and then asking him about it. and i always bury the bones, and in the right grave... oh, why would they have a grave for her if she was never buried? i mean, they would only have a memorial type headstone if any, or a wooden cross, after all, it is the waste land, who needs engraved granite headstones?

She stays there for a while... She's still there after 1am, since I always meet her right after beating that gang guarding Metzger's stuff, which if memeory serves, happens at 1am.

I didn't know you could speak the locket from the jet guy. I just kill him....hmm.. maybe I'll try that next time.

I once killed Anna to see if she had the stealth thingy(memory break..can't remember it's name) from Fallout . She doens't have it.

BTW how can you repair the still(?)?

I know only the ones to figure out the low alcohol prize and I've talked the bar keeper to buy his booze from her and I've destroyed the still, but I have now idea of how to get the repair quest. I'm positive that I've seen that quest in some quest list in the net.....anyone?

To talk to him about the locket you first need to talk about it to Mom.

I know the Klamath quest, but I know I saw in some walkthrough a quest in the Den right after the Smash the Still a Repair Still quest.
Haven't got it myself and it may be that the walkthrough had false info, but I'm sure I saw it.
And no, I don't remember which walkthrough. It was years ago.

Perhaps it's another quest that wasn't put into the game. Then again, it sounds incredibly stupid that on guy would pay you to break another's still, and that that other guy would then pay you to fix it.

Frankie gives you the still quest. I think you need a high Speech/Charisma to convince him to buy the booze from Becky.
