They stole the Lunch Mom ask you to give the first time I played. I figured it was a bug... From then on I always killed Tubby and Flick, but I no longer kill them (since the game provides enough resources otherwise anyway too) because there are still kids in The Hole and you need to kill the tenant for them to leave, so I just stash my items which "can wait" in the car and give the rest to Sulik (and later Vic, and even later Cassidy) while in the Den. Thsi way I can keep my supply of Cat's paws alive too...

Note that I've NEVER been able to make them deliberately steal stuff from me (say, the famous timed TNT).

Yep they wouldn't steal anything from you if you had nothing in your inventory same goes if there is a buch of dynamite set to go off.

Well actually I tried just putting a single item (say, a stimpack) and ran around the Den for 1 or 2 hours (real time) and the damn kids wouldn't steal it.

I know they steal allright as it hapenned quite often, but when I try it purposfully, it always fails.
