Something Awful's pisstake on post-apocalyptica

Post by Kreegle »

[ -> N/A]

Tim Geoghegan noticed that there's a bit of post-apocalyptic tomfoolery over at the Something Awful website - a cheese-filled parody of all of the best / worst moments in post-apocalyptic entertainment. Here's a morsel:
Before the Soviet Prime Minister could reply a totally important looking general guy with lots of medals and crap like that on his chest walked into the room and leaned forward to whisper something to the President. Most people would have said it was impossible for the President to look any more strained and depressed than he did, but defying all logic related to facial expressions, the presidents face fell even more. He hung up the phone in a daze as the Soviet Prime Minister screamed at him.

"Jim," he said reaching into his pocket and removing an envelope, "here are the launch codes. Give 'em hell."

Read the whole thing right here. Cheers Tim!

Note: Updated so we don't confuse poor Saint Proverbius.

Note #2: More proof Kreegle needs to learn eat meat. Brains need protien, Kreeg! Racoon City police versus flesh scarfing zombies. Nah, there's nothing do with with Resident Evil in this.

Note #3:

Apocalypse: Great or total devastation; doom.

Racoon city in Resident Evil 2: totally devastated; fucked.

Reference to Resident Evil in linked story: Page 5.

Saint Proverbius: 0wn3d.

Note #4: Kreegle's thinking:

Resident Evil - T-Virus + Nuke = NEWS

Note #5: Saint Proverbius: Still 0wn3d.

Note #6: Kreegle: b0rn 0wn3d 1nf1n1t13 ++

Note #7: Saint Proverbius: Infinity is spelt with a "y".

Note #8: Kreegle may have had a point if he hadn't started posting words with numbers instead of letters in the first place. No 1337 4 j00, Kreeg!

Apparently you didn't, it's basically Resident Evil with radiation in place of the T-Virus.

It's more like a cross between Omega Man, The Day After, some Road Warrior thrown in, and Raccoon City from Resident Evil. The author makes it pretty clear where all the story content comes from.

Well, the whole nuclear war part is what prompted me to submit this. Yes, I am indeed the nefarious Tim Geoghegan.

I would say that it only has elements of Resident Evil, which doesn't fit, really.
How appropriate. You fight like a cow.

I found the story in the post most humorous. Thank you Kreegle for making it. I'm a little unclear as to who owns whom, but it's funny none-the-less.

I also found the story you linked to quite funny as well.

Didn't fit the story? You know the whole point of SA story time is that they aren't coherent and sensible.

I know that, Doyle, but this episode was a poke at post-apocalyptic culture, of which Resident Evil is not a part of.

I think that's debatable. RE is apocalypse via biological means rather than nuclear, but it's still an apocalypse.
