Yay, off-topicy goodness!
I had a C64 until I was about 10, then it broke down. It had a funny noise and a burnt smell the last few months before it got broken. *sob* I must have over 100 games for c64, most of them copied though. That's the main reason c64 is dead now.
Oh, and my first PC was a 286. Holy crap it had awesome graphics back then!!

We switched to floppies quite fast so we didn't bother much with tapes... The only friend we had with tapes actually had a vic-20 and the games nevver worked on the c64 (well, I was about 5 back when we used the tape...) When we first got it we used it mostly as a console with the cartriges... Probably mostly because it was the only way we knew how to use it -- specially since before that then only thing we had was the Intellevision which implied inserting cartriges...

Nah, the source petition isn't going anywhere, and the resolution is just fine and I'm on a damn 22" monitor with my desktop resolution set to 2048x1536.
Quite frankly most games I've seen look ass with added FSAA (I'm mostly thinking Exult) with probably the exception of console (emulators) games because we're used to the blurring which TV brings us and a normal monitor doesn't.
