Discuss the game that started it all, and its sequel. Technical questions and issues go into the Fallout Technical Support forum, not here.

Yay, off-topicy goodness!

I had a C64 until I was about 10, then it broke down. It had a funny noise and a burnt smell the last few months before it got broken. *sob* I must have over 100 games for c64, most of them copied though. That's the main reason c64 is dead now.
Oh, and my first PC was a 286. Holy crap it had awesome graphics back then!!

Wow Red you burnt 3 c64's? 8O Sad. I still have my c64 somewhere and i'm sure it's still operational. And when i look at the tapes with games... ooh it brings back memories. Good thing there's ccs64, i don't have to bother to play outrun :D

We switched to floppies quite fast so we didn't bother much with tapes... The only friend we had with tapes actually had a vic-20 and the games nevver worked on the c64 (well, I was about 5 back when we used the tape...) When we first got it we used it mostly as a console with the cartriges... Probably mostly because it was the only way we knew how to use it -- specially since before that then only thing we had was the Intellevision which implied inserting cartriges...

I would realy like to see some way of making fallout/fallout 2 look a little more hi res. Even antialising or something along those lines would look good. I wonder if we will ever be given the source. Hmm a petition for the source code maybey?

I never had a floppy drive on the other hand. I was using only the tapes 8) It was really a pisser - it took about 5 minutes to load a bigger game i guess. And the other problem is that the most used tapes used to fuck up  But hell - it was so cool when i was 4!

Nah, the source petition isn't going anywhere, and the resolution is just fine and I'm on a damn 22" monitor with my desktop resolution set to 2048x1536.

Quite frankly most games I've seen look ass with added FSAA (I'm mostly thinking Exult) with probably the exception of console (emulators) games because we're used to the blurring which TV brings us and a normal monitor doesn't.
