Analyzing the analysis
Man, am I the only one that finds the idea of Killzig's paragraph-by-paragraph Usenet-style dissection of the review funny? Maybe next time he should make his critique longer than the original article. Dammit, there isn't even anything left to discuss about it.
I have yet to notice any bugs in Fallout and Fallout 2 for the Mac.
I'm still glowing about having Dogmeat, or Sulik to hang with again, I won't notice anything except fatile flaws. Hot button, ballistic, game killer bugs were only conscious design features in FOT, right? Broken perks have left a scar that only the original FO's can cure. No matter the platform.
I think one more round of bug hunting was all the polish these re releases got.

Aside from having to reboot the machine when you quit the game?4too wrote:I have yet to notice any bugs in Fallout and Fallout 2 for the Mac.
Anyway, I just like the fact that in order to install the game, I just drag a single file to my mac and it all works right. Much better than having to wrassle with an installer.

Nothing like a slow-moving localized apocalypse to really make you think about proper data backup procedures.

No one noticed this?
Ummm.. DUH! Does he think this is actually some sort of major revelation? You can exploit the SAVE/LOAD feature to make sure you always bipass skill limitations! HOORAY! What a fucking mook.TIP: If you want to acquire lots of junk to trade away, here?s a little trick I found. Use your stealing skill on people after saving your game. If you?re caught, load up your saved game. If not, you get the goods, plus some experience to boot. Not a bad deal, although this can get repetitive.
------------------
Fallout 2 (Mac) will quit to desktop.
Fallout (Mac) needs the force quit keys, that's three keys, -esc-,-option-,and
-the command-(the one next to the space bar sometimes has the apple logo).
AND it takes more than one pressing, or a little patience, but finaaaaaallly
quits. It's not tooo bad a bug, and kind of cute, Fallout (Mac) just don't want us to go!
Three finger solution.

P.S. or rather,....S.P. as in Saint_Proverbius
That "tip" may imply an undeveloped or immature concept of roleplaying. My nephews ask for cheats and like the god like domination.
They're not done smashing ants on the sidewalk. It's the skill racing games that they seem to gain more confidence, at MY ego's expense,
but hey, that's the role I'm playing with them.
