Where'd the pics go?

And what about those of use who are lame/poor and only have Paintshop Pro 5.0? Any way we can make our own sprites?

At the darkness inside.
Our emotions always find us
Regardless of where we hide.

Hmmm? The pics aren't showing up? Shit.......I'lll see if I can fix that.

I think PSP 5.0 should be able to handle making sprites. I have never used it so don't know the procedure but it shouldn't be too different. I believe it can handle alpha channels and it can save raw files and color tables. I'll see if I can find a demo of it someplace to look at it.

Ok, the pictures are working now....

Cannot directly work on it?
Also on that subject read this:Product Reviews

Paint Shop Pro file format (PSP) includes a full range of file compression options and multiple-layer support
Supports Kodak's Digital Camera, FlashPix and Photo CD formats
Full multiple-layer Adobe Photoshop file format (PSD) support
Support of Adobe Photoshop file format plug-ins
(the above taken from the Jasc, Inc. web site)
Also:
Channels
Adope Photoshop uses channels in two ways: to store color information about an image and to store selections. Every Adobe Photoshop image contains a number of color information channels based on the color mode. For example, an RGB image has four default channels: a red channel to store red information, a green channel to store green information, a blue channel to store blue information, and a composite channel to display all the color information. If an image has multiple layers, each layer has its own set of color channels. (See chapter 10 in the Photoshop Users Guide -- page 229)
--Could this be only a photoshop feature? In any case, seems PSP 5.0 can't save as .ACT, so it would be difficult to make sprites even if you could
make the.RAW files.
--Subnote: Are we sure that you need the Alpha channels to create a Sprite importable .RAW? Perhaps we're just thinking in the wrong direction. Maybe PSP has other ways to do this.
However, JJ86, I found usefull the feature "promote to alpha channel" of PSP 7.2 If you're gonna try with 5.0 it may have a similar feature.(I could make the alpha channel with it up to the point of creating a empty shadow shaped like my object, but couldn't proceed from there)
