TeamX Adds Classes to Fallout
<strong>[ -> N/A]</strong>
<A href="http://www.nma-fallout.com/" target=_blank>Miroslav's Lesser Half</a> is reporting that <A href="http://www.teamx.ru/" target=_blank>TeamX (Russian)</a> has released a demo for a Fallout mod that changes the face of the game quite a bit.
<blockquote>
<li>the gameplay now depends upon your character's gender and stats
<li>the Temple of Trials has been signficantly changed, including tougher enemies, new character scripts and a new ending
<li>Hakunin, Standing Fist and the Arroyo inhabitants have been remade from scratch. You'll have to choose between becoming a warrior or a shaman's apprentice. Both quests are rather difficult, timed and involve travelling to Klamath. Hakunin and Standing Fist now have the abilities to teach, upgrade weapons and such.</blockquote>
For now the mod is Russian only but an English version is on the way. They're looking for folks to help them with their translation so e-mail <a href="mailto:goudovitcheg@mail.ru">Communist</a> if you're interested in helping out. Thanks to <a href="http://fallout.scifi.pl" target=_blank>Ausir</a> for pointing this out.

Haha, yeah, but because the stupid temple of trials imposes itself, it's the easyest to mod, thus the reason they worked on it. I guess anyway, it's not hard to keep a savegame right BEFORE you enter a town to test modifications to it...
I think a mod removing the temple entirely would be much better

1) TeamX works exclusively for Russian market.
2) They have a lot of internal problems.
3) No, they don't listen to user feedback from those not in the team, especially americans.
4) They are modders, and they got unique vision of what their mod is to be. If it doesn't sound like the mod you are working on right now, then you should keep working harder to prove that your mod is better than theirs.
5) If you are planning to be a translator - don't bother. Text is crap, and they got lots of it.

Is that what they told you?Red wrote:Haha, yeah, but because the stupid temple of trials imposes itself, it's the easyest to mod, thus the reason they worked on it. I guess anyway, it's not hard to keep a savegame right BEFORE you enter a town to test modifications to it...

Gee, thank you.ApTyp wrote:Hakunin was a shaman, dummy.Jimbo san wrote: WTF? Why a shaman's apprentice? Are they adding magic and shit too?
What I meant was, what is the point of being a shaman's apprentice? It's not as if you'd be tough, as that would be the warrior thing, and I can't see them being particularly skilful at speech either, if Hakunin is anything to go by. So what do apprentice shamans do all day? Sit around taking drugs like Hakunin?

Nope, just deducing. Just look at the "Klint the generous" mod... Easy acces to it right from the start. Just like the Xmas special mod too. It also makes sense to start there if you plan on modding the entire game like that... First work on Arroyo and then do the rest.ApTyp wrote:Is that what they told you?
Course the Temple of trials itself sucks but that's a different issue altogether.
...
Hardly the same thing. Let's go by this:ApTyp wrote:You can't impose classes. It's impossible. You have been misled. Remember joining the mafia family in New Reno? Same thing.Kreegle wrote:Uhhh... isn't the lack of classes one of the major reasons why the SPECIAL system is so good? Why would you want to add them?
Now, deductive logic comes into play again, reasoning that you're either going to need to be a combat character of some type, or another set of skills, in order to pass the "rather difficult" quests that are said to be required to advance.Hakunin, Standing Fist and the Arroyo inhabitants have been remade from scratch. You'll have to choose between becoming a warrior or a shaman's apprentice. Both quests are rather difficult, timed and involve travelling to Klamath. Hakunin and Standing Fist now have the abilities to teach, upgrade weapons and such.
I'll try playing Thief/Diplomat this time, and see what'll be different.
Update:
You are not required to kill to become shaman's "apprentice" (just remember to tag Sneak before going to ToT). It's pretty cool, but too easy for my taste even with a strict time limit. Results - you get minor bonus to some non-combat skills. I'll play around to see whether there is more to it.
