Super Mutants suck!!!

Like Tactics? Found a cool mod for another game that reminds you of Fallout? Playing those crappy spin-off console games called "Fallout"? Discuss here.

Are Muties better than humans?

Not Sure/could be either

Mutants are the lesser species, ghouls are ok apart from the fact their appearance stimulates vomiting.
Mutants are balt, brainless and lack agility.
imo they look hilarious, they use pans and cans for armor for christ sake.
The fact mutants are victim of racism is a good thing as it diverts the insanity that is racism among mankind.

Ps, looks as u stated arent a legitimate argument NOT to recruit any mutants. If Mutants would have been a decent folk i wouldnt have cared less about the fact theY smell of cheese and have turds for arms.
Sometimes an atomic weapon is just an atomic weapon, ja?

Me idk, I don't like Mutants, and I don't hate them, you can make the utlimate Mutant Character with Toughness x 3, Tough Hide, and AMA. That gives them a damage resistance of 100%. Of course none of the Mutants have it.

Yeah, tough hide and steady arm are pretty nice. The ham-fisted trait is decent, too. Still, they really should have been given an extra couple of stat points or something to make up for all their limitations. Big guns just aren't always the most practical weapons. It's great they can have high strength and endurance, but something else will suffer if you want to take advantage of it. Plus, in the campaign, by the time you get them they're mostly obsolete since you're starting to get energy weapons and power armor. They would have been great when facing other mutants, though.

They still beat deathclaws, robots, and dogs, though.

I disagree, a Robot will take down a SM. First of all, robots have an extremely high damage resistence, higher than SM's. Second of all, unless the SM was using an M2, it wouldn't have a chance. Also with the Deathclaws, no way in hell is an SM better than a deathclaw in HtH. Also death claws are extremely fast and if they have Bonus HtH attacks they'll keep the SM on the ground. I have accually taken out an undamaged robot with a deathclaw before.

I was mostly talking about attractiveness as a PC. I've tried different races in the campaign, but really humans and ghouls were the only decent ones that weren't ridiculously over-powered or under-powered in depending on the area of the game. Robots really suck at higher levels thanks to having no perks, the same stat points as humans, and natural armor that's good but still not as good as power armor. Yeah, a first level robot with no armor and weapons will beat a first level anything else with no armor and weapons, big deal. For a super-mutant vs. a robot, why assume a sorry gun? Brownings are good. Pulse grenades and rocket launchers are even better. The mutant will most likely be getting more hits and extra damage thanks to perks, so it hardly seems like a mutant would be handily slaughtered assuming both are reasonably high-level and similarly equipped.

With deathclaws, big guns are murder on melee characters. Minigun + point blank range = death. Especially if you're a super-mutant and can squeeze off 3-4 bursts a round. If a deathclaw can sneak up on a mutant to start off in melee, hey, great, but who's to say the mutant couldn't do the same. A deathclaw's sneak skill isn't going to be astromical thanks to limited intellgence, and high perception is rather unlikely thanks other stat needs. If that deathclaw jacked his agility way up for tons of attacks, something else had to go since they don't have any more total than humans.

Hmm, I voted against them, because merely the fact that they are far too expensive for what they are. More time needed to be spent looking into alternative races for FOT, I think using a floater or whatever would have been cool. Robots, however, are the worst. Even dogs come before robots.
