items given to team mates
items given to team mates
I've noticed I can't transfer any items to NPCs who join me.
I've played through fallout 2 and the system was much more clear then in fallout.
what should i do if someone on my group tells me he's good with machine-guns ? if i'll give him a gun the only way to get it back will be killing him or buying it back... is there any item transferring system to NPCs like on fallout 2 ? or i'll have to do the game all alone with Dogmeat.

In Fallout 1, you have to use steal on party members in order to give them stuff and take it away. Don't worry about succeeding at steal rolls because they're friendly and will never attack.
But there's no real point to doing that at all anyways since you can't give party members new armor at all and given a rocket launcher or minigun, they'll still fight with a knife.

Yes. You listen to them and ask what weapons they can use. Then give them that kind of weapons. Ian'll use pistols an SMG's. Tycho will use shotguns (and rifles if I remember correctly). Katja prefers mellee or throwing knives. Dogmeat loves his little neat teeth!

Maybe it's just me, but i prefer the ally system in FO2 better than one...how sucky is it that ian can only wear his stupid leather armour!?

Well, it's worth it. He's just bad with burst-weapons as he apparently thinks friends have infinite HP...
And yeah, I preferred the NPC-system in FO2 too, but that's one of the few improvements in that game. (the push-option was usefull as well though... :D)

Well, I don't think it's any better to have every NPC wearing a power armor, that just makes them invincible(and too similar looking). Maybe some recruitable NPCs could have lighter armors more suitable to them(leather armor, doctor jacket, stealthy outfit), depending on the character. I'd go for more personalized armors for different types of characters. For example, a non-combat character could be clumsier in a power armor and not be able to operate it properly.

True, and the Pre-Applied, non-changeable armour is a bad idea! Look, unless they get better predetermined armour when they level up, the armour they get to begin with is what they are stuck with! I shudder to think of going from plinking away at rats with sulik to having him shot to pieces by Horrigan!

Still doesn't compensate for radical increase in enemies abilities and equipment...can you see sulik in Leather Armour fighting Enclave troopers? Didn't think so!

and your character being able to take about 10x the damage that he was once able to as he levels up makes sense?atoga wrote:yeah, bare-chested, moon-worshipping sulik or whitecoat myron taking plasma blasts doesn't make too much sense.
or being able to just 'get better' with energy weapons without ever having seen one?
