I have just started dealing with the .DAT files of Fallout 2. But, I was wondering 1 thing. HOW CAN I EDIT THE MAPS?

Well, there are two ways:
First, figure out the map format, and make an editor for it.
Second, wait for Dims to finish his map editor, if that ever happens...

Third, download TeamX's Mapper 0.97. Just look it up in Google, or whatever.
Oooops! Hope you didn't need that!

Haha, yeah well, it's still not finished as there are scripting issues, but they're fixable with hex and a lot of patience.
Obviously this post was done before Dims released the more recent versions..
There's a third option which added itself: wait for BIS to release it.
