Tiles don't show up

Post by Smasher »

I have tried every trainer that I can find and copied files and put them were
they tell me to and have made shortcuts and put the files into zip files and
done everything that I was told to, but when I try to create my own map I click
the button to bring up the tiles so I can make an area but no tiles ever show
up. I look into my files and copy the name and then search for it and the names
show up but when I choose one it says it failed to open them and it never opens
the pictures of the tiles on the left side of the screen. Any one have any ideas on how to fix this?

Have you unpacked your tile sprites?

Urm you're meant to take the files out of the zip files, try unpacking the .BOS files. Easiest way to do that is to use Fallout Booster. Otherwise you'll have to open up winzip and drag and drop the .BOS files into the zip window and then extract the files to the core folder.

I don't know what you mean by copy the name and search for it, if you have all the tiles unpacked to core\tiles then when you click on tiles you should get a list of sub directories for the different tile groups.

All I can suggest is that you make sure that you've got all the tiles unpacked to the right location.

I have a problem with the tiles in the editor, I follow every editor's instructions and have zipped it and moved the zipped file from core to the file the editors tell me to and then unzip it in that file. The unzip program comes up and unzippes the file and finishes the unzipping job I am then able to see the file with name tiles and when I look in it it has all of the files that it did in the core file. I then start the editor like I'm told so and go to creat a new map, but when I go and press the load tiles button and it brings up the a,c and d drive. So I go into the c drive and enter program files and enter 14 degrees and then enter fallout tactics and the file I put the tiles file in and choose tiles and then choose the tile that I want to load, and then press the ok button. Then one of two things happen either it deos absolutly nothing or it brings up a window that says the file has failed to open. Does anyone know how to fix this problem or has anyone even heard of it before?

Normally if the editor comes up with just the root directory it's because your missing a folder, double check that your tiles have unzipped to the correct path

C:\Program Files\14 Degrees East\Fallout Tactics\Core\Tiles,

hang on when you say press load tiles button are you talking about the load tileset button at the top of the editor? If you are that will only work if you have created tilesets. To open up the tiles just click in the field that says tiles or press f2. On the left hand side of the editor are a list of directories, BOS, Generic Tiles, Industrial, Junk City etc. Open up one of these and you will see a subset of directories, usually walls, floors objects and rooves. Open one of these up and you'll see a choice of different types of tile styles, choose one of these and then you should see a selection of tiles which you can then place on the map.
