Modifying souds

Post by seraglio »

Ok maybe this question will be easier than my graphics question.

I would like to know how to go about modifiying sounds. I have not seen any faqs on it here.

Specifically I love the sound of the laser gatling, but it has no single fire sound. Is there somewhere where I can add the laser pistol single fire? Or can I create a new weapon sound group and add all teh exhisting ones I want? Where exactly (what file) are sounds defined?

Thanks!

You'd probably have to use some sound editing software.

I think the sound types are hard coded, some weapons only are meant to have one mode of fire, i.e miniguns only have burst fire. So sound types for those weapons will only have the one sound effect. If you want to have a laser weapon with single and burst modes then you'd need to use the sound type of laser, and then rename the WAV files.
