Necropolis, featuring Tycho holding a .357 magnum and torch

Post by Neon Dingo »

Here's a drawing I did a while ago with a cheap pen for a girl I like.

<img src=http://thumbs.deviantart.com/300W-96A09 ... is.jpg>

Click on the thumbnail so you can see it fullscreen. It's really huge and a lot more detailed.

I made a colored version that I entered into an art contest. It looks really fucking cool. I'll try and post that, if you want me to.

Not bad, but you did it for a girl you like? I'm hoping she is into that for your sake!

Hot girls that like Fallout: a winning combination

Hahaha, Well she's into Fallout, so yeah, I'm a lucky bastard. She's the only girl I've ever met that's played the game.

A very nicely detailed piece of art. I like it. The city ruins look great. Why is Tycho holding a torch? Is it supposed to be night? Also, the torch and goggles are colored, but rest of the drawing looks black&white. That's kinda confusing. Those things aside, your drawing looks great.

It's ART! Do not question it! ;)

I think the color in the torch (and the glow of the fire in the goggles) gives the world a nice touch - a world where everything's gone fucked and everything seems gray there's a little sparkle of hope and life left.

Though that's just IMO.

Well he's holding a torch because it's about to become nightfall and you're pretty much fucked if you walk around Necropolis at night. You need some sort of light and form of defense so that you can avoid getting your jugular vein bitten off by a ghoul. I bet those ghouls have rabies, too.

I like coloring select things in black and white drawings because it places more emphasis on that object. If you've ever seen the movie It they have a flashback where the clown killed his first victim and they have everything black and white except his nose and it is really creepy.

Thanks for the comments, I really appreciate it. I thought that you guys would make comparisons to other artists on here whose professionalism far exceeds mine, but you didn't.

Would you like to see the colored version I entered in a contest?

Yeah, Ok. I see your point.

That kinda proves there's no talent here. ;)

Colored version (I think this one looks a lot nicer printed out on paper though because it darkens it a bit more).

I only got an honorable mention in the contest I entered it into, but that's okay, I guess. Honorable mention means fifty bucks!

Both are excellent IMO.

Very nice colouring!

The mood you've created in the picture is priceless, it's got the
right feeling to it, the desolate waste, though populated by few...

Both exceptionally good, although methinks the coat on the colored version could use some texture, if you know what I mean.
