Badland BF1942 Modification
[ -> N/A]

The post apocalyptic genre sure is getting a lot of attention for all sorts of games lately, and Battlefield 1942 is no exception. Kruddman sends word of his upcoming mod, Badland, which has just been officially announced. His description is better than mine:

The world that BADLAND comes from was very different from the one we live in today. The governments were ruled from corporate offices high above a fusion powered cityscape. Nuclear weapons were in early development during the American Revolution. Gentlemen settled scores through pistol duels. Families were armed to the teeth to defend against marauders and highway
creepers. The military created genetic monstrosities to fight their jaded wars.... And all of these were simply accepted by people as The Way It's Always Been.
Then... if things weren't bad enough... it all blew up!
BADLAND takes place 351 years after the death of 'civilization'. The present of BADLAND isn't much different from its past. Battles are fought for the same reasons. Only more people are fighting. And their fight is more desperate. Food and clean water are in short supply. Ammunition is currency.
The gameplay of BADLAND will vary. There will be car combat inspired by the classic game Interstate 76, intense firefights, and a few unique scenarios. No island hopping or shelling a strategic point with a battleship. A few military vehicles will be included... and they will be quite fearsome and dominating. It will take cunning and a bit of luck to defeat or even escape some of them.

He also sent a couple screenshots of works in progress:

<A HREF=http://www.planetbattlefield.com/badlan ...
