Fallout on Playstation 2?

Post by Kreegle »

<strong>[ -> N/A]</strong>

Here's a little bit of fun and excitement for you:<blockquote><em>Being a Fallout fan I looked up "Fallout" on <a href="http://www.gamefaqs.com" target="_blank">gamefaqs.com</a> and I found a page that had under PS2 the game "Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel" I clicked on it and immediately freaked out.

Info:(<a href="http://gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/data/35797.html" target="_blank">http://gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/data/35797.html</a>)

Board:(<a href="http://s3.cgi.gamefaqs.com/boards/gento ... oard=35797" target="_blank">http://s3.cgi.gamefaqs.com/boards/gento ... d=35797</a>)

*Note that it's under "Action" instead of "RPG"*

With reason too, it looks like no one had any news of it whatsoever.

So I checked my local Electronics Boutique store and I asked the clerk "Is there any news on a Fallout game coming out for the PS2" he looked it up and said "Yeah, "Fallout: Brotherhood" supposed to come out October 8th"</em></blockquote>October 8th, eh? Playstation 2, eh? Sierra, eh?

Considering that the section of Micro Forte responsible for Fallout Tactics isn't around anymore... and that the publisher is listed as "Sierra", not Interplay, I wouldn't rush out and do any pre-ordering if I were you.

On the other hand, if you believe this story, please send us $150 US an we'll ship a signed copy of the game to you as soon as it's available! Promise.

Cheers for the notice, Benjamin and Fang Jei!

Funny if it's true. I would have called it from a million miles away.

Hmmm... I'll see what I can do. You'd better get in quick though... this offer is only valid while stocks last.

Let's just assume the following:

A) Interplay has somehow gotten the cabbage together to port Fallout Tactics to PS2.

II) There was research done that proves that Fallout Tactics would sell on the PS2 and explains away why it sold like shit on the ol' PC.

3) There's been no updates to the PC version (save that single limpwristed update).

From 3, we can assume that Interplay has either gotten FOT to the point where it's as good as it'll get or that they don't care.

From II, we can assume that whoever's doing their marketing is and has been shorting Interplay's stock for quite a while.

From A, I can assume only that Interplay is actually a front for Caern's drug ring.

Nothing like a slow-moving localized apocalypse to really make you think about proper data backup procedures.

a shitty game using the fallout name on PS2. Yet one more reason I relish not owning a console system.

More Food for thought.

EB Games:

Mind you, I don't trust EB for anything, let alone release dates.

Consider it bullshit until Sierra confirms it.Image

It's on pre-order list at many gamesites, which actually proves nothing at all.

Cool thanks for the link Section8! I just wrote a steaming hot review of the game to add fuel to the fire. Hopefully they will post it soon :)

Looks like I got the listing killed:

http://www.nma-fallout.com/cgi-bin/news ... 441,.shtml
But...wait? I thought you got your information direct from the "manufacturer". Better talk to Sierra "again". They might be upset you took down one of their upcoming titles! </SARCASM>

Seems that Gamestop.com also has a listing for a console FOT. I gave them a good review of the game which I'm sure will help them sell lots of them:

The worrying thing is that mentioning magic spells must just actually make it sell!
