It makes sense because there is no pleasing the core audience without major financial investment and 2y.o. production schedule which Interplay can't afford. Bad press? I don't remember major industry publications bashing FOT for being an awkward spin-off. New people? Action is much more popular today than strategy.

Again, I'm trying to give you Interplay's point of view, not mine.

ApTyp, it's the whole idea of slapping the Fallout name on their that pisses people off. To me it's no different than taking a classic movie and doing a shitpan remake or "update". Star Wars is a good example.

Suck it down, Artie. Everyone's hating this game, not just on the Fallout sites.

Well, I do have to re-evaluate my estimation of some people at both EvilA and VE3D. Some.

Now, for those with a clue, it was a point of conflict with Fallout Tactics in a love/hate argument. With this game, it's almost clearly anathema to many people, especially those with a clue.

"It might be good!" and "Give it a chance!" and "It's only a game!" people need to be surgically removed from the gene pool and handed a clue.
Obsidian:
Now working on Fallout: New Undermountain!

They promise to spend only a year on this title - only a year less than the original Descent to Undermountain!

Of course it will sell! Anything PS2 sells!! :sarcasmsmiley:

I don't know if I should laugh or cry. I'll probably laugh, because it's less gayer. AAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHHHAHAAAHAHHAHHAH. there.

Now that Interplay has assfucked the last of the Fallout title, it's safe say that they really don't give a fuck about their fans. By gamers, for gamers? That slogan hasn't applied for the last 5 years. Well, what can we, the Fallout community do? Boycott? No. I think it's our duty to fight back and do whatever it takes to hunt down and destroy the evil Herve Caén and his mutant army of Marketing folks. I want to see that game go down, preferably Interplay/Titus with it too. We can affect the publicity that Fallout:Licensefuck gets, though I don't think that game is gonna get huge sales anyway. Spread tha' word!

It's hard to blame BIS for this, action is not what they fiddle with so why should they have known about this? And even if they knew what was going on, there was nothing to be done. This puts the Killzig vs. Gamespy conflict a while ago to a totally new light, doesn't it? But the most saddest thing is that there's not even any 'kewl 3d minigun particle effexorz'. The graphics look like a combination of BG:DA and Post Nuclear. It obviously isn't yet finished, but I don't think Interplay will consider that as a hinder to releasing the game.

Why lock it? It might get a little repetitive with about 10 news posts in one day about interplay, but I'd rather bitch and mess around with photoshop than talk about iraq and read about 2 new screenshots released for another post-apoc game.

I'm guessing poor impulse control. Anyone with any sense should know it's not kosher to lock four comment threads at once because he feels they're "redundant". If that was the case, there's been numerous days when someone else should have locked a bunch of those devastion news item comment threads.

No, wait, those rarely had comments in them. Go figure.

Anyway. common sense should dictate that it'd be annoying to play hunt the unlocked comment thread from the front news page.
