Fallout Enforcer Announcement Aftermath

[Game -> Update]

Well, it's been a bad day for fans of <A href="http://www.interplay.com/fallout">Fallout</a> with the announcement of <A href="http://www.interplay.com/games/product. ... 3">Fallout Enforcer</a>, that ugly, let's try to sell a crap title on the license and throw in tits and ass action game for those two consoles. However, all hope is not lost.
 
 Why?
 
 Simple. I've never seen a game announced to date that's had such bad press right off the bat. Want examples?

They're pretty negative as well, including the first post which says, Anotehr franchise bites the dust.. Of course, we're all waiting for Mr. EvilAsshat to start trolling <a href="http://www.interplay.com/fallout">Fallout</a> fans to get more hits for his site.
 
 Finally, the best part. The great guys who ditched <a href="http://www.evilavatar.com">EvilAsshat.com</a> and founded <A href="http://www.gamerswithjobs.com/">Gamers with Jobs</a> have <A href="http://www.gamerswithjobs.com/modules.p ... ld=0">this to say</a> on the subject:

Now...I'm pissed!

First lets review the History of crap we've had to endure...

Fallout one is made and it becomes game of the years, so a sequal is planned but its rushed because IPLY wants a quick buck. The sequal even tho its a great game in itself...its pathetic in the fact that it was so rushed that almost half of the intended stuff that was to be in it wasn't, that there were so many bugs that a patch ws needed just to play the damn game with out havign to reload every ten minutes!

Next came the worst possible idea for a game realted to fallout yet...'Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel' from the get go it was so un Fallout/1950's (which Fallout is really about) that there was a mass suicide on one forum. This craptastic game was meager at best and had about as much change as surpassing the original Fallout as Solitare 3-D!

Now after complaining, groaning, begging, pleeding, and bithching to no end (I've done my far share) we get this..."We're making it for the PS2 and X-Box (if they had included Gamecube I would have been a bit less pissed but still totally pissed).

What next?! Fallout Mystic: Golums Adventures! For craps sake its getting to the point where I'm thinking of taking Vodoo lessions to tourture someone! (That could be anyone, but IPLY BIS game management is top of list!)

Well now I won't say that this won't be a okish type of thing that maybe might end up making a few $$ and that they'll be lucky to break even. But I will say that it would be easier to convert the existing games over to consol instead of making a new one.

Now to bring to light the teas/insuferable/piss off of all time. IPLY's main site has been running polls with Fallout and or Fallout related options...the majority of the polls that have had this have been won by the Fallout or Fallout related choice...infact as I post the current poll of this kind..."Which game setting is bset" or whatever the exact wording is...Post Apoc is winning at 60 soome percent. When Fallout fans first saw the Fallout and Fallout related options on the Polls they hoped that maybe IPLY was considering a new Fallout game, Fallout 3. Instead we get other crap and semi-crap and now this!

Fine IPLY you don't want/can't make another Fallout because of either..."We need more money." or "We're to bust finishing other projects." etc...well you know what...I was always on the side of..."Yes i understand that you need to get that done first to either get it done or make some $$." But now...now!! I'm ready to explode with anger...what are you doing just leading us along to watch our reactions...Do you get off on this type of ranting? Or are you all just a bunch of hypacrits that could tell a strait lie to save your jobs?!

I have a challenge for all of you Fallout fan or not IPLY BIS or other subsidiary employee or not. Can you honestly say that another Fallout wouldn't be a wise investment? Well can you...if you can then fine. I'll except it and move on...if not. Then why are we the Fallout fans, who at this point feel like some of the most ignored, disrespected, and pissed on fans that the gamming comunity has at this point! Why are we left to suffer like this.

I've been waiting for another Fallout just like the rest of the Fallout fans, many of which have gone on and away from the community because of lack of Fallout related news or chance of another game. I myself am running a Fallout site for another fan because he lost interest but says that he would return if another Fallout were to come out/be announced.

My posts are longa nd often overlooked and not read because of this...and other things. But at least I'm saying what is not only on my mind but the mids of hundereds of other Fallout fans. Its getting to the point were IPLY is crying wolf to much and we nolonger seem to care what they say about Fallout games in general. Thats sad as far as I'm concerned. The fact that no one will stand up and say..."We want Fallout 3 now or we all leave and stop buyingh from you." Is a testament to who pateint we are...the fact that nobody has said that and actually got a decent size rally behind them is impressive. Where as IPLY ahs been opressive about the whole thing. Then we have those few like JE Sawyer who seem to care but I sometimes wonder if they really do. (No offence JE your the first to come to mind is all). Do they really care or are they willing to say anything short of garenteeing another Fallout to keep us all around?

Now since its impossible to give a gamming company, or even the gamming community any ultimatums, commands, or even at this point faith. That I won't bother, since most are laughted at right now.

On another note...I'm currently taking a Visual C++ course...I was thinking that getting into game designing or working on video games in general would be sweet. But now...as I keep getting hit by dissapointment and piss off by, not jst IPLY but other gamming companies, I'm starting to rethink that. Now if that dosnt make at least one of you game develpoers out there feel bad in any way, then my theroy is correct. Your all just trying to string us along becasue you want the big pay off in the end and you really don't care about the fans.

My final thought: If makinga nother Fallout is so much work then incorperate part of it into a contest...have story line contests to determine a base story...the Fans are a weath of information and cna help out in their own limited ways. Make the fans part of the perliminar work and you won't regret it.

I think I just want Interplay to die now. Probably a horrible thing to say, seeing how many people would lose their jobs. Then again after all the lay offs how many people are left.

I think whoever wrote the design document for this...game, must have written "retro 80's atmosphere" by mistake instead of 50's. In any case, looks like a shoo-in for this years "Sucks Floppy Donkey Shlong" award.

I'm afraid they won't can it :(. Not enough money, and despite the horrible uglinesss of it probably a tremendous investment. Knowing Interplay this hatchett quick-ass fuckjob was more costly than buidling the Taj Mahal.

I reckon this may just about put the final nail in the coffin of Fallout 3- With any luck the game will sell poorly, but then those dumb bastards at interplay will think theres no interest in the Fallout license any more, trashing any thoughts of a true sequel to Fallout 2. On the other hand, if the damned thing sells well, interplay will just keep pumping out more games like it :evil:

Once this thing is in stores and flops we're NEVER going to see a Fallout 3. Even in some sick twist of fate it does well we're probably gonna see a sequel to F:BOS or a spinoff to a spinoff a few more years down the line.
