Americans don't need passports on account of most US states being larger than European countries. You don't need to have left your home state to not be a douche; Jet's just retarded.

It's not a matter of how many steps you take from your home door, it's a matter of being exposed to different cultures. Moving from South Dakota to North Dakota is not going to broaden your horizon much whereas this would probably equate to a cross-Europe trip in distance.
Just out of interest, how well travelled are you Retlaw?

California? Ok, I may be a foreigner, but this is what I seem to get from California:

Trying to be socialist in a Capitalist state has left it in debt. It's Government are run by movie stars and the movie stars are run by Scientology. San Francisco thinks it's super liberal because it has a street with a couple of gay bars (gay friend went there, said that the gay village was literally one street of shit bars and a few apartment buildings), and Los Angeles is a 3rd world city where only the rich have access to basic ammenities and everyone else shoots each other.

Used to know a girl that lived in Stockton, told me how she was raped by a gang of mexicans, which is apprantly commonplace in Stockton.

I think Alabama has more culture than California, considering alabama actually has an accent and nobody has been born in Cali since 1921.

Oh, and the air in LA is so polluted in block out the skyline. Awesome.

I just said in previous post:

"Ok, I may be a foreigner, but this is what I seem to get from California"

"Hey, I'm just calling how I see it, for all I know California is the best place on Earth."

I acknowledged they were uninformed opinions. This is the third topic you've decided to call me out on, after getting offended at what I said, after not reading what I said correctly.

Word of advice: Get over yourself.

In his defense, Yon, the writing context did appear to be you "stating facts" rather than your perception.

And there isn't any socialism in the US, that entire argument is an enormous load of horseshit. It's used by the same people who alternatively use fascism, and apparently are unaware of the definitions of either. (And in my defense, this statement is not aimed at you; it is aimed at clarification.)

Not much change in culture between North and South Carolina, no, but they're the same region. I'm not going to say America has as much cultural diversity over distance as Europe has, but I'd say it does overall. I'd imagine, though, as corporations keep shoving shit down all our throats, the only real cultural differences you'll find in most industrialized countries these days is pacing of life, food and language.
Just out of interest, how well travelled are you Retlaw?
Been to England, Belgium, Brussels, Tunisia, Canada and South Africa. For all the Canadians and Europeans want to pretend the Canadians are different than us, Canada is practically the 51st state - there was even talk about Canada maybe dismantling it's military about a decade ago because if North America got invaded, the US would be compelled to defend it.

I was also of the opinion the only edible thing in England was fish and chips from street vendors, then I met what the South Africans considered food. I've heard it's substantially better since the turn of the century, though.

English foods mainly consist of Eggs, Bacon, Chips, Sausages, and a combination of all of them for breakfast.

I don't suggest black pudding though.

You might like toad in the hole.

Lot of northern foods like shepards pie and erm....

Well, the north invented fish and chips so we don't need to invent anything else :chew:

Oh, and things involving pigs, i believe we invented a few dishes involving pigs.

My perception of British food is very limited - I had to stay around the hotel the entire time and it was an old-school joint with some crazy asshole who ordered pickled fish for breakfast every morning, if that's any indication of the menu.

I don't consider eggs, bacon, sausage and french fries to British food, because everywhere I've been eats those. Love me some shepherds pie, though.

To be honest I wouldn't be able to tell you much more than that. Thanks to decades of immigration, there aren't that many english restaurants around, except carveries, and there aren't many of them unless you're in the countryside.

I've mostly grown up on italian and indian. These days it's mostly McDonalds and pizza.

Don't forget about spam.

My best exposure to English food was at a restaurant called the Golden Hind, some fantastic stuff there, should definitely go back.

But I concur with your view on Indian. Nowadays I'm not really interested in eating anything that doesn't have enough chili or spice in it to kill a large rodent colony.

The southern United States, I think, has some of the best damn food in the nation. Barbecue, the real kind with a pit and a pork shoulder that's been smoked for hours and hours, not grilling. Throwing hamburgers on a grill is not barbecue and it pisses me off when people don't know the difference. Most yankees wouldn't know a real barbecue unless they went to one anyway.
