geez, you didn't get it. It was a normal photo, and then I took a photo of a fragment of the old photo, this time with my phone-camera since I haven't got a scaner.

Yup... A katana... My dad tied the scabbard to the hand guard. Told me if I open it, I'd need to sheath it only when blood falls on it.
