Fucking crusader was the best goddamn video game in history.
It's one of those series where you are like "Red boba fette. Fucking horrible violence. Rebels and a totalitarian government thingy, why are there not one thouand more of these?!"
I mean, it had a complete control scheme, letting you switch between like action mode where you can dodge and roll and come up firing and shit, but easier controls for random bullshit too. Interactive environments, tons of computers you could read, etc.. (little too much find the key, but hey, it's a 1998 game) and fucking delicious FMV the type of which you are ever so glad they quit doing.
It's also got all the best weapons of all time right there, and no regret was even better, cranking up the super violent time with guns like the microwave gun, which gives dudes the quivery flesh chunks, lovingly different from the chunks caused by spider mines, detpacks, the grenade launcher, the mini rockets launcher and you know, the missle robots, the crazy fucking explosion traps or the giant pile of destructible (flammible or not) objects. Fallout's environment looked as interactive as TNP's login compared to Crusader. Just about everything changed when you shot it enough, and shit caught in crossfire was always going up, shooting steam all over or something, torching you or something, all good fun, floors would collapse, it was totally possible to fuck yourself into reloading by blowing up a walkway or letting some asshole npc do it by trying to shoot you near the flux capicitor or something.
I just wish my computer didn't suck so bad so that I could run it on dosbox without lag. The motherfuckers straight up built it to require dos.
Best ever.
